The battery on the motherboard needs to be removed and the board will drain. Leave it ten mins and refit battery. It will let you into the bios where if you want you can input the password you want.

I can't find a decent manual for your laptop but there will be 2 pins on the motherboard that will say BIOS Clear. Short these 2 pins and turn the computer on. This is the only way to bypass the BIOS password. This operation will clear the BIOS and reset to factory defaults. After the BIOS is cleared, turn the computer off and take off the short.

The battery may have a higher capacity. I suggest you contact the supplier to check the differences and whether it will fit your model laptop.

Check to be sure there is enough hard drive space first. If there is plenty, then you could be missing a driver or the install file itself. Microsoft has the installer and drivers you would need if that is the case.

Could be a virus, especially if you obtained this from an unreliable source (we have all done it)!
I'd first of all download this little programme, free to home users and very very good.

Install to a USB pen drive or similar, boot the laptop in safe mode and run it. Once run and any virii found are deleted, run again setting the scan path to C:/.

Check and kill any virii found

Now delete your sytsem restore points ( the viruses if found will be backed up there).

Reboot and you should get into normal boot

If the above fails to fix this, (ie no virii found) the programme you installed has damaged your settings. In which case, first of all, go to MY Computer / Right click on hard drive/ properties / tools and run a disc check on reboot

Reboot and try again

If that fails, you will need to install the OS and do a repair

If THAT fails, you will need to do a full install

FOR all satellite A135-S2266 users,

The drivers download link in previous pages is invalid.
I searched somewhere else and finally found all drivers.
NOW they are working perfectly on my computer.biggrin.gif
NO MORE unknown devices.
" Then, nothing more just than to share drivers with all!"

this is the new link,

The package includes:

Video - Radeon Omega Driver
Audio - Realtek xxx
South Bridge - ATI Catalyst (SM bus driver)
Modem - Toshiba Software Modem Driver
Direct application launch button: get rid of the two unknown devices.
PS: For the 2 unknown devices, just
go to device manager, and update their drivers from list, then search the location of the Direct application launch button, click ok, done.

although this driver works for both, you still have to do it individually.
