It's normal since your phone still locked for particular network. To unlock blackberry 7290 network you will be need a blackberry unlock code and you can obtained that code from your network provider or purchased at third parties sites.

You might be out of your coverage area or there might be something wrong with the phone get it checked or updated.

You will get the settings you need from your network provider.

That's simple my friend. If you want to unlock blackberry 7290 password and don't care about your previous data, just type any password until you fail 10 times and your blackberry unlocked from old password.

1 - Switch ON your Blackberry Storm 9530 with its OROGINAL SIM Card.
2 - Go to Manage Connections.
3 - Click on Turn All Connections Off.
4 - Go to Options.
5 - Click on Status.
6 - (Input required info into Guarded Link to retrieve the unlock code)
7 - Go back to Options.
8 - Click on Advanced Options.
9 - Click on SIM Card.
10 - Type MEPD (letters will not appear on-screen but a menu will pop up).

Me neither. It gives me "A fatal error has occurred" in Blackberry's Desktop software (v.5 and the latest v.6)

1.In a messages list, click the trackwheel.
2.Click Compose SMS.
3.Click [Use Once].

4.Click SMS

5.Type the SMS-compatible phone number.

6.Click the trackwheel.

7.Click Continue.

8.Type a message.

9.Click the trackwheel.

10.Click Send.

If you have added contacts to the address book, you
can select a contact from the list after you click
Compose SMS.

To send an SMS message quickly from the phone, type
an SMS-compatible phone number. Click the
trackwheel. Click SMS<XXXXXXX>.

Reset it by taking out the battery, wait one minute, then replace battery, turn on and wait for phone to start up.
