The fuse to the Power

How many other electrical items do you have working on this same fuse? Lamps, radios, tv's, fans, air conditioners, refrigerators, etc. can all put stress on the circuit causing the fuse to blow. Check the fuse to see what else it controls. You may have to move your microwave to another outlet...2100 watts is very powerful and draws a great deal of electricity. Or you may just have to turn off a lamp, tv, radio, etc when using your microwave.

Mic daigram

We have the service manual for it here.

You'll also need to refer to the tech sheet hidden inside the unit, either behind the control panel or on the bottom left side inside near the bottom.

You should be able to get parts affordably by looking up part numbers here.

Let me know if I can help further.

Amana cmax microwave

Test the high voltage capacitor, the rectifier diode.or the magnetron. If all this are fine, test the control board.

The diode and capacitors can br tested. The capacitor must be alloweddischarge before testing, or you risk to get electrocuted, even ifpower is off. Capacitors can get discharged by shorting their twocontacts.
Replace the magnetron if the checks and all of the high voltage component tests are good, but the unit still does not heat.

All locations, and description of this parts can be located using the diagram here: Counter top.

Parts must be tested to find out what is wrong.

Remember that microwaves are potentially dangerous devices if not repaired properly, the job must be done by a competent person.
A microwave energy leakage test must always be performed when the oven is serviced for any reason.

Regarding parts, contact the seller here to purchase parts. (here in UK).

Fuseholder melted overdrawing amps and not heating amana hcd18sd

FUSEHOLDERS MELT ON MICROWAVES ALL THE TIME its the most common thing that makes the microwave die 99.9% of the time its nothing , something to do with the metal that is usedin the fuseholder , and the fuse .with a long run of the oven the fuse gets hot and the fuse melts inside . sometimes you can get away with a little contact cleaner on the holder and a new fuse . other times you will need a new fuseholder too. good luck

Blown fuses

I service a lot of commercial units.

If it goes dead for a while during or after cooking then comes back on, the magnetron is probably overheating and causing the magnetron thermostat to open. Then when it cools, it closes the circuit and allows power through again.

If it's intermittent or random, it may be a bad connection, usually on the control board or a loose fuse holder, or even an intermittent fuse.

You should do a continuity test the fuse while it's in the holder (with the microwave unplugged, of course) then turn the fuse by hand or take it out and put it back in, then test it again.

If it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor.

If it went dead a few seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a failing high-voltage transformer.

If it goes dead or blows the breaker when you plug it in or open or close the door, then there's a problem with a door switch or door switch mount.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel, which is very helpful when troubleshooting.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you need more help. If you can scan and e-mail the mini-manual, that would help me help you, too.

Not heating

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383 When a microwave is not heating and is making extra noise, it's usually a bad magnetron or high voltage transformer. But once you've looked over the documentation I pointed you to, let us know if you still have trouble.

Amana 10D microwave fan stays on, doesn't shut off until unit is unplugged and re-plugged.

If the fan in your Amana 10D microwave stays on and doesn't shut off until the unit is unplugged and re-plugged, there could be an issue with the fan motor or the control board. Here are some things to try: 1. Check to make sure the vent is clear and unobstructed. If the vent is blocked, it can cause the fan to stay on. 2. Check the fan motor. The fan motor is responsible for turning the fan on and off. If it is faulty, it can cause the fan to stay on continuously. 3. Check the control board. The control board is responsible for controlling the functions of the microwave, including the fan. If it is faulty, it can cause the fan to stay on or not function properly. If none of these solutions fix the issue, it is possible that there is a problem with the microwave itself. In this case, it is recommended to contact a professional appliance repair service for further assistance.

How can I remove and replace the magnetron in a vintage Amana Radarange?

The magnetron is probably the single most difficult component to get to in the microwave. In my opinion I would just buy a new one.

Amana RCS10MPA commercial microwave powers up and but as soon as it starts to cook the lights dim and after about 5 - 10 seconds the breaker pops. Any ideas what is wrong?

This could be several things: 1 the magnetron that generates the wave. 2. The high voltage diode. 3. The capacitor. Since it is a high voltage device and can injure or kill you, if you are not versed in electrical repair and replacement., call for service.

I have an Amana MVH230W-01 microwave. It is probably 20 years old and I am trying to remove it. I unplugged it and removed any screws I could find, including the 3 in the upper cabinet. Now it will tip forward, but not come out. As it tips forward I hear tearing sounds like it is pulling the sheetrock off the studs. If I tip it forward and try to lift the back of the microwave, it just tips back up. What do I need to do to finish removing this microwave?

You can try checking out the installation manual for an idea of how it was installed. It should be sitting on a mounting bracket and not attached to the sheetrock itself. However, you might be pulling on the mounting bracket when you tip it forward. You should have an extra set of hands to help you pull it straight forward and out, instead of tipping it. The installation manual can be found at https://d1vofmza27mmhi.cloudfront.net/product-pdf/amana-amv1150vaw-installation-instructions.pdf. Good luck!
