I rebuild these systems all the time and I have to tell you I just shut off the hibernation which is what the problem is. Go to power options in the control panel and click the hibernation tab and uncheck the box. That way you save the disk space and the aggravation of trying to wake up the system. Let the computer go into standby if you want but you really need to turn off the hibernation...

If you want to recovery your laptop just press F11 while seeing Hp logo, follow the screens , recovery file option you found under troubleshooting Category Mohamed Hejazi

This is known Webcam issue in DV6000 notebooks. To resolve or narrow down the issue, we have to check few things.

First open Device Manager.

Please follow these steps to open Device Manager:

1. Right Click on 'My Computer' icon on Desktop and choose Properties.
2. The System properties Window opens.
3. Click Hardware tab and then click the Device Manager button.

Expand + Imagining Devices and check if the HP Webcam is listed under it.

If Webcam is not listed there, then you have to contact HP to get the BIOS update.

If it is listed there, right click on it and select Disable. Again right click on it and select Enable.

Now open any applications like Quickplay and check if Webcam is working or not.

Please reply me if that won't resolve the issue, I can provide more work arounds

How old is this machine?

They should. Unless it's an older plasma, it will have an HDMI input to connect it to your laptop. Some older tv models might have a DVI input, but convertors are easy to find in any pc store and should be quite cheap. Some tv's may even still have a D-sub (the old blue VGA analog cables). If none of the above is useful: there is way to convert HDMI or DVI dignals to scart signals, but they aren't cheap, and might be hard to find. If only for a one time event I wouldn't bother. What's the exact type and make of the plasma?

I had a similar problem. You may want to attempt a hard reset on the unit first. This is simply remove power from the laptop. Remove the Battery. With all removed from the laptop...hold the power button down for one minute. Then release the power button. Plug in the battery first...then the power cord. Try powering the unit up again. This reset will not do anything but do a Hard reset on the machine. Sometimes static charge can build up on the motherboard...the PC will go into a sleep protection mode. This essentially wakes it up.

Try another disc, if it doesn't work for any disc, but you can feel it spinning, you may need to update your drivers. If it is not, you might have to reinstall the optical drive (not hardware wise, just from the device manager.

You should precise for which Windows version you look for graphic drivers for Pavilion Dv6000. If you are referring to the pin on the AC brick (the part that actually plugs into the wall), then you don't fix it. Due to risk of fire, it would need to be replaced.

If the pin is on the laptop itself, then you would either need to replace the motherboard or obtain a DC jack and sodder it to the motherboard after removing the old one. (Generally, the DC jacks are not field replacable.)

More than likely you have a memory issue. But you have very little info as part of your question. So I am guessing. Try it again after cleaning the edge of your memory sticks.

4 short beeps might mean you have a bad memory module (beeps are coded) .. if you have two memories installed you can try takeing one out at a time .. it will start working when the good module is the only one plugged in .. just removing and replacing the memory sometimes cleans the pins so that it works again .. ... there are other possibilities that are more expensive usually ... so you hope its just the memory .. here is a site that gives beep codes for many machines ..
