I am having trouble with my Kodax all in one printer. It now gives me an error message that it failed to detect paper edges and therefore will not print. I try loading a single page and that doesn't help, I have shut the printer down and restarted but no help there either. Any ides??
I had exactly the same problem but was able to solve it by selecting "Reset All Settings". This is accessed via Main Menu/Printer Settings/Reset All Settings on the printer's screen.
Hope it works for you too.

Error says "COLOR INK CARTRIDGE EMPTY. REPLACE COLOR INK CARTRIDGE". I did that....the error won't clear from the printer.
I went online to Kodak's site to troubleshoot. It suggested removing and reinserting the cartridge. Did that. Error still won't clear.
Then is said to remove both ink cartridges and the print head. Clean with soft damp cloth. Let all dry and then reinsert. Did that and Error still won't clear.
I can't even turn it off unless I unplug it. I've tried that to see if it would recalibrate and of course not.
The other troubleshooting suggestion was to update the software/drivers/whatever technical term should be. I tried that and still no luck.
PLEASE HELP ME!!! I actually do LOVE the quality of my photos from this printer.
I appreciate your help.
OK so i found some new information that should solve the problem. The version of firmware you originally had on the printer when you changed the ink cartridge was bad. There is a known issue that when you put in a new ink cartridge when the printer is in the error state "COLOR INK CARTRIDGE EMPTY. REPLACE COLOR INK CARTRIDGE" the unit writes that value to the new ink cartridge so you will continue to have that error. So to fix your problem First Remove the ink cartridges and download and install the new Firmware. Then sadly you have to go get another new ink tank and install it.
If you can get through to kodak you should request reimburstment of some sort like a free set of ink tanks.

Six months old. Have been through several cartridges. Had to replace black with new cartridge since it was sending almost blank pages through. Will not print black from Documents on computer, but does make a readable (although light) copy when copying a black document. Also makes almost perfect copy on color copying. I changed part of the text to blue color and it printed it, and rest of page was blank. Have removed both cartridges and print head, unplugged, and reinstalled, etc.
Had the same issue... No black ink. Called the # from "Solution #1" guest, 18004216699. Had to patiently go through all the basic trouble shooting stuff like calibration, print head clean, demo print, etc. Once I went through that, they issued me a new print head for free, no shipping charges or anything. Just did this today, but they say I should have the print head in 3 days.
For once, service worked like it should!

I did a clean install of W7 Beta (LOVE IT!!), but now Kodak 5100 will not print. Easy Share program loads and works to calibrate, scan, etc, but when I try to print, I get an error message and Explorer has to restart. I have tried to increase virtual memory, but still get the error. I know it is probably due to W7, but I am using Vista drivers that work on almost everything else. Lots of blogs and posts about similar problems with Vista and Kodak printers, but not many solutions.
I've had the same problem for some time, but recently found a fix.
Those sneaky folks at Kodak updated their Vista driver for the ESP
series, and it works with Windows 7 now. Oddly enough they haven't
advertised this fact, but it works none-the-less. Now, you're going to
have to uninstall the Kodak Home Center, the driver and anything else
associated with Kodak. You need to manually go through the Program
Folder and delete anything Kodak. Make sure you set explorer to show
hidden files/directories, and go to Program Data and delete any thing
Kodak. Finally go to users appdata and delete anything Kodak in all
the sub folders there. Then download and install the new May 1 drivers
from the Kodak site:
http://www.kodak.com/global/mul/service/downloads/DownloadLookup.jhtml?pq-path=9103/13657/13660&product=EKN035329
Note: They are the Windows Vista drivers, but they do work on my Windows 7 machine.
You'll also notice that they've updated their installer program.
Hope this works for you, and if it does spread the word!

Accidentally, I posted this under the Kodak 5500 when in fact my printer is the 5100. Either way it refuses to print Red Ink so everything looks basically green when it prints. I just replaced both ink cartridges, ran all of the troubleshooting tools, but I still cant get it to work properly.
I have problems printing red ink too. What can I do to resolve this and how can I purchase a new Printhead to see if this is the problem?

it will copy/print but if i put in a pic and hit scan then start. the on/off light flashes then it quits 1 min ltr with no pic scaned
have you tried to use other application such as camera and scanner wizards. Please try that... If you're able to scan picture then there is nothing wrong with the printer so, you said you uninstall the home center already so try to uninstall and reinstall the .net framework version 2 and then relaunch the software to see what will happen

Hi FixYa team, my Kodak printer's "Check color ink" red light was flashing so I just put in a new color ink cartridge (even though I am only printing black and white). I restarted the machine but the light is still flashing and it won't print. When I try to print I now get an error message that says the printer is not responding because it is not on - but it is. All the lights are on and the "Check color ink" light is still flashing. And then another error message comes on that says my color ink cartride needs to be replaced - which I just did. I''m on a deadline at work and need to print. Do you know what the issues is? Thank you! Whitney
I have had the same frustrating problem.
I cntacted the Kodak live web chat help line and after removing the print head, switching the machine off for 1 min and reconnecting.Clean heads and recalibrate.
.....Still the same.
They then told me the print head was faulty and to contact Kodak for free repalcement.
