If the error code E-90 appears on your Stylus CX control panel display, the print head may not be able to move back and forth freely.

If the ink cartridge cover is not completely closed, the print head may have trouble moving back and forth. Follow these steps to close the ink cartridge cover:

1. Turn off the Stylus CX.



2. Lift up the scanner.



3. Press down on the ink cartridge cover to make sure it is completely closed.



4. Close the scanner and turn the Stylus CX back on.

If the packing materials are not removed, the print head will be unable to move and the error code E-90 may appear on the control panel display. Follow these steps to remove the packing materials:

1. Turn off the Stylus CX.



2. Lift up the scanner to access the printer area.



3. Remove the tape from the ink cartridge holder.





4. Close the scanner.



5. Turn the Stylus CX back on.

Make sure in your menus that you have cymk setting set.

open printer there is a slot beside ink cartiges in the slot there is a plastic gear and a black cam by reclipping cam into its propper place it alowes the ink cartridges to move freely thus solving fault.
to avoid this problem do not force the removal of printed paper

Starting a Scan With EPSON Scan If you want to scan an image and save it directly to a file, you can start EPSON Scan as a “standalone” program.
Place your document or photo on the scanner. See Placing Documents or Photos for instructions.

Do one of the following to start EPSON Scan:

Windows:
Double-click the EPSON Scan icon on your desktop.

Or select Start > All Programs or Programs > EPSON Scan > EPSON Scan.

Mac OS X:
Open the Applications folder and click the EPSON Scan icon.

The EPSON Scan window appears.

If the Mode setting in the upper right corner of the window is set to Full Auto Mode, click the Scan button. For instructions on selecting optional settings, see Using Full Auto Mode.

If you are in Home or Professional Mode, see Selecting Basic Settings.

Note: To change scan modes, see Changing the Scan Mode.
The File Save Settings window appears. For instructions on selecting options, see Selecting File Save Settings.


When you are finished selecting File Save Settings, click OK. EPSON Scan starts scanning in Full Auto Mode.

The scanned image is automatically saved in the specified location.

If the Open image folder after scanning checkbox is selected in the File Save Settings window, Windows Explorer or the Macintosh Finder automatically opens to the folder where the scanned image was saved.

You need to find out why the printer is not returning to an on-hook condition.

My best suggestion to contact the Epson Support team for assistance.

Also, check in your manual for setting the disconnect of the fax line.

With the EPSON'S you must "Genuine" Epson Cartridges. It does not print good with Generic.
I went thru 2 sets of cartridges, trying to clean the heads alot of times. Finally, had to buy another one.
If you are using generic, change back and see what happens and try again. If not , Good Luck.

replace all ink cartridges and reload software

download and install the driver from epson.com. that would suffice to make it work on your computer.

Try head cleaning.

hmmm am afriad if u had a warrant for it just take it back to them and get a new one...plastic staffs are hard to fix.

Your story is common and the best reason to trash this printer and put it down to one of lifes bad experiences.

There is a problem with this printer I had the same one and had the exact same problem called Epson and the told me that part of the board was out and that I could send it to them and they would fix it and it would cost around $200.00 plus shipping. I bought a new printer.
