Epson Stylus CX6000 All-In-One InkJet Printer - Page 6 Questions & Answers
Replacing black ink cartridage and a small brass
You can buy a new part from Epson, but the install side of it is tricky. Not sure of the price of the part but I do know that you are probably better off buying a new printer. Once printers start to have little issues like this, more and more things will just happen
How do i change ink cartridge
While cartridge installation varies somewhat between brands and models, these general instructions apply to most major brands:
Purchase an ink cartridge made specifically for your printer.
Step 2
Turn on your printer and raise the lid or press the cartridge changing button.
Step 3
Wait for the cartridge carrier to slide out.
Step 4
Put your finger behind the ridge on the top front of the old cartridge and pull it toward you to remove. If you have an Epson printer, lift the cartridge holder lid, and the cartridge will pop up for removal.
Step 5
Carefully remove the tape from the ink opening on the bottom of new cartridge.
Step 6
Insert the new cartridge into the cartridge carrier. Make sure the new cartridge is oriented the same way that the old cartridge had been.
Step 7
Feel and hear the cartridge click into position. On some models, arrows will indicate the cartridge is correctly positioned.
Step 8
If you have an Epson printer, close the cartridge holder lid and press the cleaning button to charge the cartridge.
Step 9
Close printer cover.
Screen says please contact epson E-90
E-90 is usually shown when your waste pads are full and the printer wants them changed.

Summary
Usage of compatible ink and leave the printer idle too long may cause printhead clogging
What should you do if you get this problem. Relax; you may recover the printhead by unclogging it. Follow these steps to unclog the printhead
1. Right click in the printer driver name
2. Select Properties menu
3. Click Maintenance tab
4. Click on cleaning sign for regular cleaning. Perform this up to 3 times.
5. If this does not work, perform Deep Cleaning
And if that not work
Some times it needs a good clean up but this is up to you if you want to do this,
But after you done this prime the printer so it gets the inks back in the heads, it may take a little time for the inks to work.
Ok.
There is fluid cleaner for this but I can never find any in the shops the only ones I seen is when they sell them in Tesco but they come in with the ink refill bottles so I just use worm water by it self on a cloth and dabbing on the heads to clean them, it will not harm the heads but not to much water.
Some heads are on the inks them self but some have them inside the printer so I not know your printer so if the heads are inside you need to get them out you may find that some heads will just clip out put some need to be unscrewed so you got to know how they come out so be careful and not push to hard on them, if the heads are on the ink then it is a easy job to clean them,
It worth a try it worked for me more than ones.
Please all I ask is call back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one, so I will keep on helping.

Paper will not feed
Hello there
This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you.
Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.
First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.
If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.
And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.
Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Epson Cx6000
Sorry to say but after reading countless forums, visiting the epson web site, and talking to their tech support; they've screwed us. I've noticed that every epson CX series has countless ink cartridge misshaps, and none printing issues. First off I recommend you cut your losses now and don't buy anymore ink for it because it will not help, and I also recomend not ever buying Epson again. My CX6000 had brand new ink, the black never printed and after 2 nozzle checks my ink was very low or gone(so it says). I learned that the ink is not gone its a programming error with the chip on the side of the cartridge. Also I believe they have scammed us because phone tech support told me to take out and put back in the cartridges which "expends" the cartridge if you have seen that error and from Epson website itself says once you remove a cartridge it becomes expended or already use and the printer will reject using it. And their Epson repair stores charge 15$ just to look and see what the problem is then "fix" whatever it may be (probably something expensive). The thing is they F'd us and might as well get a new printer. best of luck to you.
