you just have to format the laptop for you to solve the problem

you can reset the bios setting by removing the battery, you can also remove the jumper pin from the motherboard from pin1-2 to pin3-4 wait for 10sec then return to pin1-2

To find your computer's IP address

1. Open Network Connections by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type adapter, and then, under Network and Sharing Center, click View network connections.
2. Select an active network connection, and then, in the toolbar, click View status of this connection. (You might need to click the chevron to find this command.)
3. Click Details. Your computer's IP address appears in the Value column, next to IPv4 Address.

try rebooting or go into settings of device. when you first start your computer press F8 that will give you options.

Restart your laptop. After it shows acer logo..Press F8 multiple times... (preferably 3 to 5 times) a screen will show you multiple options.. Select Safe mode (this will be first option and then hit enter... It will show you your Window name (windows 7 / windows xp) press enter again and it will boot your window in safe mode regards, Bilal

check for an update of bios on acer.com it will fix your laptop problem....

Install CD rom softaware from acer website if it still does not work then it could be defective and you will have to replace it. sometimes, if you install incompatible software this happens too, in that case you will have to get your windows repaired.

Disconnect the power cord from the laptop and remove the main battery. Open the laptop computer's screen and extend it as far back as it will go. Be careful not to stress the screen and cause any damage, but press it hard if needed.

1. Press a flat head screwdriver under the front of the plastic bar lining the back of the laptop's keyboard. Pry the bar up slightly and hold it with one hand.
2. Pry up the other side of the bar with the flat head screwdriver and fully pull out the bar. Keep its ribbon cord connected and set the bar on the laptop's screen.
3. Remove the two Phillips screws securing the computer's keyboard. Slide the keyboard up and out to remove it. Again, do not remove its ribbon cord, and set the keyboard over the laptop's touch pad.
4. Remove the four screws securing the cover plate over the motherboard and remove the plate as well.
5. Locate the CMOS battery at the bottom-right corner of the motherboard.

Check your device manager for the imaging device ( webcam ) If not found, try booting into safe mode and give a look again in device manager. If you have any usb devices connected disconnect them If all of this do not work, you may have disconnected the webcam or could be bad. Hope this helps

Your Acer laptop has a 15-pin VGA port on the rear. It may also have a S-Video and/or a DVI-D port. Any of these can be used to connect to a television monitor. None of these connections, however, supports the sound portion of the signal. You will therefore require two cables, one for the video, and one for the sound. The sound will be a regular 1/8" stereo jack on the PC side. You will need to look at the TV to see what types of connections it accepts. There may be HDMI, DVI-D, S-Video, or RCA connections. Select a cable which matches the connections for each end for both the audio and video.

First, make sure that there aren't any discs in any of the drives. (I don't suppose it comes with a floppy, but if it does, make sure that there is no disc in it.) Acer's usually don't come with restore cds, instead they use a recovery partition, which you can access by holding alt and F-10 immediately after powering on. This process will restore the drive to the factory condition, which will destroy whatever newer data is on it. (Good thing you've been backing up on a regular basis, eh?

Generally you can remove passwords by removing something called the CMOS battery. This battery retains the configuration of the computer when the AC power and main battery aren't present or working.

The battery is generally located in the RAM expansion bay. Locate the battery and remove it. let the laptop sit without ANY power connections for at least 30 minutes. When 30 minutes or more has passed, replace the battery and connect power. Boot the laptop and press F2 to enter the BIOS setup. Generally no configuration is necessary on laptops so just save and exit.

If the fan is not working, your computer will not start sometime. Try cleaning the fan with hand held vacuum cleaner. and restart the computer. Before you clean the fan, remove the batteries and power cable from the computer.

My first concern with this would be the hard drive. In my experience, if an OS has been re-installed and the speed issues remain then this is the most common problem. If you have another 2.5" hard drive then try swapping it and installing a new OS on this. If it works then you have your problem.
