Brother dcp-j125 shows unable to print 73
'unable to print 73' is a Printhead error..
Usually the printhead is an expensive part around $80 to $110, and you will need a full set of cartridges to prime the new printhead..
Sorry to say that this repair is not normally economical to go ahead with.
Genuine brother ink cartridge not detected by printer on DCP J315W printer
This is a common occurrence for these machines. They can get confused when cartridges are changed before they read as empty.
To correct this.
1) Unplug the printer from both the Power and Computer and remove all cartridges closing the cartridge access panel.
2) Plug the printer into the Power only and turn on. The machine will complain about no cartridges, this is fine.
3) Open Ink access panel and insert the first cartridge (Black is most common and close the panel.
4) The machine will complain about the missing cartridges. Open the panel and insert the second cartridge in the sequence and close the panel again.
5) Repeat the process for the third and fourth cartridge.
6) Once all cartridges have been installed the printer will ask if you have replaced the cartridges. Say no to the Black, Cyan and Yellow but yes to the Magenta and it will display the correct readings.
If this process fails to read the cartridge still then there is something wrong with the sensor inside the machine which probably means new machine.

Torner ended in brother dcp1511
This machine uses a Reset Gear to instruct the printer it has a new cartridge. The Starter Cartridge that comes with the machine does not have this gear attached to it so refilling the cartridge without installing and resetting the gear will not allow you to print normally.
If you are using a store bought cartridge that you have since refilled you can reset the gear to tell the printer it is a new cartridge.
I see double lines when printing
A picture of the printout is required to confirm, nevertheless, it could be toner. Printing does not use scanner, so it has nothing to do with the scanner.
I lost the CD HELP ME TO GET ONE
Go to the Brother Website for your region. Find the Downloads section.
Put in the details of your machine and search for the appropriate downloads for your machine.
Download the Drivers, Manual etc from there. Some of the regions may even offer to sell you a CD with all the downloads on it. But just download what you need.
Accidentally turned off computer printer now not working..
windows make loads of hardware errors, if it is not being picked up by the computer but the printer is turning on check it has not been installed as with the same name but a number after, if so select that for printing if not try plugging the usb lead from the printer in to a different socket on the PC.
hope that helps

Noisy printer
The printer or the drum/toner unit may cause the grinding or clicking noise.
- Power off the printer and open the front cover.
- Remove the drum/toner unit and close the front cover.
- Power the printer back on.
If the grinding or clicking noise dose not occur when the drum/toner unit is removed from the printer, then the drum/toner unit is the cause of the noise. Install a brand new drum unit and/or toner cartridge may be necessary to stop the noise.

Ghost writing on my Brother DCP-7030 all in one printer
Ghosting on machines can be one of several causes.
- Poor Quality/ Damp toner - Replace the toner cartridge
- Worn Drum Unit - Replace the Drum Unit
- Fuser Unit Failing - Replace the Fuser Unit (Normally more than the printer is worth).
- Damp Paper - Open a new ream of paper and try printing again (This is the cheapest option to start with diagnosis).
Fault finding
Magenta Print-head may be blocked.
Depending on the model of machine.
Either on the Menu on the printer find Ink Management or press the Ink Management button.
Print a Test Page
If no Magenta Dots showing then proceed to Cleaning and Clean the print-heads through the proceedures given on the machine.
Print another test page. If Magenta Dots are fine then cleaning done. if not then try cleaning again.
If still not fine then the machine will need to be cleaned professionally which will cost a reasonable amount. Most service fees are more that it is to replace the printer.
