This method was for 8500/8550, but we have a 8560mfp and it worked for us (with some slight modifications...). Skip step #1 and do this instead to get to the Diagnostic Menu
Click the "System" button. Select "Information", then "Troubleshooting" then "Service Tools", and finally "Enter Diagnostic Mode".
"OK" below means the check mark button on our printer.
"This may include: Low ink error, add ink error or 09,035. Error codes and more.
1) Press and hold the red button (info button) and the "OK" button simultaneously. This should take you into the Service Tools menu.
2) When in the Service Tools menu, scroll down to the "Enter Diagnostics" menu. Select the "OK" button. It will go through some cycling at this time for about 2 minutes. The screen may go blank a few times too.
3) It then asks for a confirmation, select "ok" again. The printer will go through a minute of rebooting. The screen may go blank a few times too. You are waiting for the diagnostic menu with the Test #00 "no test selected"

How do I find Drum Encoder Disk on a Xerox 8560?
To find the encoder, remove the right cover and remove the only fan on that side.
Loosen the clear cover and clean the encoder and entire area thoroughly, including the wires.
If the problem returns, you may need to purchase a whole drum 020K14790

I HAVE A XEROX 8560 THAT I AM GETTING BLURRED
Oil from the drum has ran off over the drum encoder position sensor.
Take the right cover off and find the fan. Remove it and loosen the clear plastic sensor cover underneatch. Clean the sensor and generally with Isopropyl and Q-tip.
Clean the nearby wires and anything that might be transporting more oil back to your sensor
My Xerox 8550 says 'ink sticks are jammed'. Yet,
This could be a print head problem. If the print head is calling for ink and the sensor is bad the ink melter will continue to melt ink and over flow the print head. In which case the print head need to be replaced.
Also it could be a problem with the ink melter. If it isn't melting the ink it will cause this error.
To get to the ones at the end of the chute I stick a long screwdriver and break it free from the melter.

This is a fault of the inkloader. A broken ink is not tripping the sensor, or it is out of ink.
Turn on printer. When logo starts, press and hold the info and back buttons until it says entering diags.
Go to functions menu, scroll to reset IRC counter, enter, and then exit diags. Printer will boot to ready.
Well when the logo is moving before it centers is when you hold down the back and help buttons and it should reboot in service mode, usually it takes it a second or two to start the process. So you can try that again or go into service mode the way you did before. Once in the service/diagnostic mode you need to scroll to the bottom to the function menu then reset the IRC counter in the sub menu and you should be good to go. You were almost there before. I have to do one today so if I notice anything different than the instructions given to you I will post back but Ive done it several times and everything sounds right.
