If the icons on the screen for copy and fax are grayed out then likey the scanner has failed.

How do I scan from HP3035 to my computer

easiest way is to download the HP MFP configuration wizard and run that. It will setup a shared folder on your computer and then add a scan to network folder icon for your computer on the MFP. You will need the user name and password that is used to log into Windows to set this up.

I Would suggest you have the printer self configure ( eg have the printer boot up when connected to the network with bootp/auto ip selected as my net connection , this will automatically input the available server addresses , when this has completed then i would manually re configure to better suit My needs as to what address is used for communication. alternatively you can using the CMD function and Ping/ ipconfig commands in dos window to find the Ip credentials of the server for manual input into printer

Sir/Madam Please Follow these steps to remove previous printer software and drivers, and then download the latest HP software and driver. Step one: Remove the previous printer software installation Before you install the new software, first remove the previous printer software to make sure that you have only the latest software installed on your computer. Use the following steps to remove the HP print driver and software from a Mac OS X computer.
  1. Double-click the Macintosh HD icon from the desktop.
  2. Click Applications , and then click the Hewlett-Packard folder.
  • Double-click the HP Uninstaller . The HP Uninstaller opens.
  • Click Continue .
  • Select the HP product to remove, and then click Uninstall .
  • When prompted, type the Administrator name and Password, and then click OK .
  • When the Uninstaller finishes, drag any icons for the product to the Trash .
  • Return to Applications , and then click the Utilities folder.
  • Double-click Activity Monitor . The Activity Monitor opens.
  • Under Process Name , click any process that begins with HP , and then click Quit Process
  • Click Quit again.
  • Close the Activity Monitor .
  • Empty the Trash .
  • NOTE: If you cannot delete some items, return to the Activity Monitor and end the process, and then try to empty the Trash again.Disconnect the product, and then restart your computer.

    • Click the Printer menu to find the additional features such as cleaning printheads, aligning printheads, checking ink levels, and viewing advanced printer data for your selected printer.

      • If you see green wrenches , the utility identified an issue and corrected it automatically.
      • If you see yellow exclamation points , the test failed and required user action, but the step was skipped.
      • If you see a red X , follow the on-screen instructions to resolve the issue.
    2. When you have finished fixing all the diagnosed problems, click Test Scan or Skip .
      • If you click Test Scan , the Print and Scan Doctor launches the HP scanning software to perform a test scan. Follow the on-screen instructions in the scanning software to perform the test.
      • If you click Skip and are not experiencing additional issues, click Quit to exit the tool.
      • If you click Skip and are still experiencing scanning issues, click Support and Troubleshooting for support that is tailored to your scanner, or click HP Support Forum for help from other HP customers. Figure 4: Example of additional support options
