printer don't work saying there's a problem with transfer belt, but I don't want to change it! thank you for your answer!
Unfortunately you cannot there is a resistor on the unit that when you replace it it blows resetting the transfer counter.

On my Samsung CLP-300 (which is only a couple months old), every few pages I print I get a solid red light. When I run the "Dr. Printer" utility, it tells me that the waste tank is full. I pull the waste tank out and empty it. Do I need to get a new waste tank already? Why is the printer wasting so much toner?
Any help is appreciated..thanx.
Technically you do have to buy a new toner tank (they come in packs of 3, Harvey Norman normally stock them), however the carefull application of a vacume cleaner (use disposable vacume bags to do this, cloth bags don't filter well enough) to the full waste tank can at least double its life if not more. You will only be able to do this 2 or 3 times but in a pinch it will let you resume printing for a while. It allso helps to clean the optical sensor windows (their the only optically clear plastic bits on the cartridge so hard to miss) with a cotton bud (a DRY cotton bud). You will need to clean both sides of the window portal from the inside of the wate tank as well. Bending one end of the cotton bud at a 90deg angle will help when doing this. It's fiddly and potentially very messy work if your not carefull so be prepared to make a mess and most importantly keep the vacume nozle near the opening of the waste tank to **** up the super fine waste toner powder.
As for if this is just your printer wasting toner, no its not. If the printer did not clean its roller after every colour print you would end up with colour contamination on the following pages. Hence why colour prints take longer than black.

get this error when printing pictures from files and articles from the internet...have changed cables and have the shortest I can get...was also the best quality available. Rich
I should have updated this a while ago, as I see others have had the same problem since my post on 27 August.
After calling Samsung technician out to take a look, he suggested getting a higher quality cable (conected to the computer). Despite the fact that the cable which we'd been using for months always seemed to work ok, we got another one of higher quality, and the printer now works fine.
I don't know why the cable stopped working efficiently, but it did.
I hope this helps...

Samsung Printer:
My Samsung printer is showing Transfer Belt Error
Hi
I have a utility to reset the consumables errors on this printer, but only if the component is past its lifecount. (60k for transfer belt)
Its called CLP-300_Reset_RLCv04.exe or just RLCV-04.exe (if you can find a copy)
If you need a copy, let me know and I'll find some way to get it to you.
I've used it for transfer belt reset and it works.

What is the meaning of "dev. home error" on the Samsung CLP-300? It seems to be a common problem but no-one has an answer! It suggests that the developer unit has not returned to it's 'home' position after a print cycle, but if so, what detects this and why does it happen?
Dev. Home error
can be fixed by stretching out a solenoid spring on the power cord
side of the printer. The solenoid acts as a clutch to stop the spinning
developer actuator
at the right spot.
The problem is that the spring gets weak
over time / the cogs round out
over time and the solenoid finger is overcome by the spinning cogs, and
resulting in selecting the wrong developer.
Open up the right side (power cord side) of the printer (take off
top
cover, then take off side cover). Then, find a solenoid (little metal
square) that touches the white plastic vertical spur gear. Take the
spring off the solenoid. Now, put the spring back on - only this time
you will attach one anchor point to the middle of the spring as to
pre-stretch the spring for more tension.

How to Reset counter of Image Unit CLP 300
Well it is a tricky operation, because you have to put some screws off the back of the printer and make a short circuit. The safest way to do this is to take to a professional workshop.

why is my samsung clp making a clicking noise?
Is the printer making a clicking sound when it is printing? Or is it just making a clicking sound but there are no light and the printer appears to be dead except making a clicking sound?
I know of a cause for either case.
Case 1. It is clicking when printing. Sometimes the toner cartridges are not seated properly in the imaging unit, and causes the gear on the cartridge to slip making a clicking sound as the gear is being turned. Try pulling out the cartridges and try turning the gear. It should turn smoothly without binding. If it binds, there is not much you can do about it except replace it when it goes empty. Reinsert the cartridge and check that it inserted completely into the imaging unit.
Case 2. Printer is dead, not printing except making a clicking sound. This is due to the power supply board failure. Usually the failure is due to a blown filter capacitor on the power supply board. The power supply is located on the right side of the printer. Remove the right side panel to get access to the board. The board can be either repaired or replaced. Hope this helps you.
