I don't really know how Rhapsody works - do you have to download strait from the site to player, or do you save the files to your hard drive in between. If you have them as individual mp3 or wav files on your hard drive try using a different media player.

I did read in the installation guide for my ma566 that its not compatible with downloads "purchased from" itunes. Maybe its the same thing with Rhapsody?

Re: the xp vs win98 - on a phone call to Nextar tech support, I was told that if you have XP you don't need to use the driver disk but you might need to help the computer search online for updated drivers. I'm not sure if your saying your issue is that your COMPUTER is acutally 98 when it was "supposed to be" Xp, or if you are trying to use the 98 driver disk on xp and its not working.

Did your computer ever even recognize that the mp3 player existed? Or are you getting a specific error message?

well the only thing i sugest you do is format it and let itunes reset your ipod back to factory settings

Yo! the mp3 player you are using has a USB port on it. it can work as an external disk (flash). when u fix it into your computer, you will see it as a memory disk.you can always copy and paste whatever you want in it. take care.

It is probably corrupted. This solution will delete ALL information and files on the MP3 player.

Under Windows go to "Control Panel" then "Administrative Tools"

Next go to "Computer Management"

Under this menu scroll down the menu bar on the left side and select "Disk Management"

Now this is the tricky part, you need to find your MP3 player, if you see a device with 1GB of memory that is it.

Right click it and select "Delete Volume"

Then right click it again and select "Create Volume" (Or something similar)

Once the volume is created it should function properly once again.

From power off mode, press the play/pause button to power the player on and enter into the MP3 standby mode; press the playpause button 3 seconds under any mode, the player will save the data and enter power off mode.

If the level of infection by the virus is high, you can try repairing the OS by using the OS cd. You wont loose any installed program if repaired. But the virus will be in dead state after repairing. Then install a good anti virus and do a computer scan. This is the best way to get ride of severely infected virus.
