Camera can't take photos
Most of the time, when a camera asks to shut down there is a problem with the camera. Could be the lens can't come out complete or other, almost invisible things. Even the battery can be a bit low, so as soon as it wants to make the camera ready to "shoot" the voltage goes low. Lots of cameras, will go off then. If you can't find any obstruction on the lens, please charge the battery and try again.
Important photos are stuck in the internal memory of my camera.
Select the Display mode with the top dial. Press the Set button to bring up the menus. Press the Rev key to scroll down through the menus. On the second page of menus, select the Copy menu. Then press the Lightning Bolt key to scroll right. Select the top of the 2 menu items. This will copy the internal pics to the memory card, assuming you have a memory card inserted.
My memory card is definatly
Try this....with no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format"..follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, insert your card and it should work properly.

Hello
The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the
probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.
Use
these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.
Firstly ,
try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.
Try holding the
shutter button while switching on the camera.
Look at the lens ,
and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then
try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).
Try gently
pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may
cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.
Another
way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and
then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to
not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and
down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the
camera is enough to get things going again.
Try hitting your
camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of
your hand.
Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair centre for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to
replace the camera.
If it is still under warranty I would suggest
you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any
off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about
warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Hope
the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need
any further assistance. Also, please be so kind to let me know if you

The size of the images are too big
Use your favourite image editing software in Vista. Or use the software that came on CD with your camera (if it is not the one that runs on XP only).
Anyway as alternative solution you can either shoot photos in lower resolutions (1Mpix for example) and then the files won't be so big. But you will have only the small photo and no large one.
Or shoot as usual, then switch camera to "play" mode and when viewing images on camera, there is a menu option to resize the images - you can resize them to 1Mpix for example.
In the meantime search web for some free image editing software for Vista.
Can't download photos...
The easiest way to transfer the pictures onto your computer is to remove the memory card and plug it into a card reader (either built in or a USB card reader if you have one). If not, you can connect your camera to your computer by the USB cable.
Once you plug the camera or the card in, Windows will usually ask you if you want to import the images. You can do that or import them manually by opening up the SD card or camera in my computer and dragging the files to the folder you want to store them in.
Please leave feedback if this was helpful. Thanks
The panasonic DMC-LS 70 is
I don't have a Lumix but most phones have a setting of where you want your photos to be stored. If you can get to your settings menu and then look up your storage options, maek sure you have the SD card selected as where you want the photos to be saved.
Downloading pictures
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.
Hi, when i put in
There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". Some include trying to use of a 4GB SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. Others include problems with the tiny slide switch on the side of the card, or the electrical contact switch internal to the camera. The problem may also arise from simple formatting problems if the card has never been formatted in the camera (note that this will also erase the card). Troubleshooting tips for this problem may be found
at this link.
