There is some short circuited component/s at its horizontal output section circuit. Check and replace.

diagrams are not to be found for most modern sets as they only sell boards---google the model with "parts" to locate the board which in most cases will have a photo of it---then you know what to look for

I see so many here with no sound/nopicture issues:ISSUES: 1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signsof damage you can see---burnt parts etc.3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down theproblem.4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.Answers to issues:1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the genericones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don'tput a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses astandby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined andsome not.Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on thepower/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--Iattach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flatand have no brown material coming out on top or bottom.What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating(saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have tobuy and try a board to see if it fixes it or not.4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over.A bad cap will look like these with the tops puffed up--should be perfectly flat and no brown material coming out of them.

The HDMI jacks on the TV are HDMI in. Thus to get the theater system to play the sound, you use the HDMI out from your set top box to the HDMI in of the Sony theater system and then the HDMI out of the theater system to the TV. (Connecting the HDMI in of the TV to the HDMI in of the home theater system will not work.)

If you are watching OTA TV or a direct coax cable connection, you need to hook up the TV audio out to the home theater system audio in to use these speakers with the TV. Then you probably need to set the TV to use the external speakers. This will probably be in the Menu under Audio. (Toggle external speakers on/off)

The Akai LCT2785TA has RCA audio out (1/4" red and white jacks). If your home theater system has RCA audio in, just get a patch cable (MM ends on each side of the cable). The standby 5vdc power supply is working but not the rest. Unplug it for about an hour to let it reset itself first, if it is still bad then:

You can find the power supply for your LCD from this website. Both power supplies can be used.

First of all you need to check whether there's a signal coming out from the IR or infrared sensor of the remote. How to check? Use your phone camera or any video cam device. As you watch the remote from your camera facing the IR sensor, press any button. If there is a signal coming out from the remote, you will see the IR sensor illuminate from your camera.

If you find no illumination, then first to do is to check the spring where battery is connected. Remove any corrosive or residue from the old battery on the plate or spring where battery is connected.

If there is illumination, then the problem is the IR sensor of your TV. The most common problem and solution for this is to resolder the terminal or solder joints of the IR sensor inside the television.

Let verify first to narrow down to where the problem can be, attach the powered PC speakers to the Audio Line out RCA jacks to see if you can get the sound there, if you do, then the problem can be in the power amp circuits, if you do not get the sound at RCA jacks, then the problem can be in the sound processor circuit. Please post back what you find. You may be better off if the sound does work through the PC speakers, to get the TV repaired, it will be more than $100 and up
