Tv coax f connecter is broke off cannot hook cable cord on it. or antenna

I looked up the manual for this TV and it has composite (RED, WHITE, YELLOW) and component (RED, GREEN, BLUE) connectors as well.

Are you using a cable or Dish box? If so, those boxes usually have output in Coax, Composite, and Component formats. You could just run that type of cable. If you use Component you will also need another cable set (RED, WHITE) for audio.

If, on the other hand, you do not have a cable box and you are using your TV's tuner you only have two options. You can repair the broken connector or you can route the Coax through an inexpensive VCR which will allow you to convert it to Composite cables. In this case, however, you'll have to use the tuner in the VCR, not the tuner in the TV to change the channel. Sorry it's not the best of news.

I want you to know that I'm not paid for this. It's a strange hobby I know, but I like to help when I can. While I cannot physically repair you TV, I hope you've found this information at least helpful and will rate it positively. If you have more questions please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks, and good luck.

I only get a blue screen with "No signal" on it. it doesn't stay on it shuts off automatically.

Power on your TV and press the INPUT button on the side of the TV repeatedly and rapidly until you can change it to a different input, such as AV. If this does not work. Try this: With the TV off, press and hold the input button on the side of the TV for about 5 seconds. The TV should power on and the input list will appear. Let me know if either of these work.

My Vizio VU37L HDMI ports not working. AV ports work. Heavy lightning storm last night, TV was off when I went to bed, on when I woke up.

If you send the board to us we may be able to fix it. What you're looking for is having to replace the small SMD IC that the tracks from the HDMI ports lead to. Sometimes that is all it takes, other times it needs more and just today I've had a case where we just couldn't do anything as the damage seem to have spread to the large processor. (it wasn't on a Vizio board, it was on a Sanyo, but the concept is the same) www.coppelltvrepair.com

hello imvega7, as i know, 42 inch is a plasma display TV.
Refer to your image, and my experience that symptomp because of connection between buffer PCB and panel. Some cases, dirty conection may cause this symptomp.
Un plug power cord, open rear cover, fine pcb on upper or lower panel.
unplug flat cables from pcb buffer, clean soket using a brush. And also clean flat cables using celaner or alcohol.
Wait untill that conection dry. reassembly and try it.
i hope that help you.

My gv42 l turns on,

The reason why the tv says no signal is because it is on the wrong input. Turn the tv on and chang the input to find the right one. My vizio does the same thing if it is on the wrong input.

Blue screen

This sounds like a signal issue. make sure your antenna is connected. Try a different input device. connect a dvd player, set top box for satellite or cable, or a camera, set the tv to the appropriate input and check for an image. Hope this helps.

Only get black and white

Hi There,

The most likely reason for this is that your connections between the DVD player are incorrect. This usually happens when a Composite cable is connected to one the Component input sockets on the back of the TV.

If you are are using a composite cable (red, white, yellow plugs), please make sure the yellow plug is not connected to a socket labelled Y, Pb/Cb, or Pr/Cr on the back of the TV or the DVD/VCR. The yellow plug needs to be connected to a VIDEO OUT socket on the back of the DVD/VCR and a VIDEO IN socket on the back of the TV.

Do not use sockets labelled Y, Pb/Cb, or Pr/Cr on either of them.

If you are unable to determine which sockets to use, please let me know the brand and model number of your VCR/DVD and confirm the model number of your TV is GV42L. I will then be able to draw you a diagram showing the correct connections to use.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
BElectric
