Turn tv on and it is just black even though the green light is on no sound either
The first piece of advice would be that pretty much; all TV's quit working for the same reason, no matter what brand, make or model. Some part goes bad. So, when looking for answers, any general answer to "My TV power light works, but TV won't turn on." or some such question with an answer will have similar answers. That said, here's the simple and most likely probability.Unfortunately I have good news, and bad news. Which one first? lol OK, the good news... most tv's that do nothing at all usually have a power supply problem; and power supply problems are usually because one (or more) of the diodes in the rectifier has gone out; or it could be a capacitor. Now the bad news, it's probably in a high power circuit. You didn't say it'it's an LCD or regular TV. Either way, although easy to fix; it's dangerous to work on high power if you dont' know what you're doing. That's WARNING, not caution. Your life is at stake. It even could be as simple as a fuse, on an inline fuse. If you have a repair shop in the area; that would be your best bet. I really do recommend that you don't do it yourself unless you really do know what you're doing. But, then you wouldn't have asked. So, the good news is it's probably a cheap fix; the bad news is it's dangerous; and the other bad news would be finding someone to fix it. Still, there is no way to know why it's broken; but, usually a tv that does nothing; or more modernly a tv that does nothing except the sleep activated circuit (the one that lets the remote turn it off and on and listens while it's off) means, there's no quick reset switch, no easy fix, except as I said above. I'm sorry.
