Have you tried connecting the monitor then powering the PC on. at that point i would say it could be a problem with the PC.
When you connect the monitor and power on the PC, do you see anything on the monitor screen at all?
Has anything been modified on the PC right before it stopped?
Samsung syncmaster 215tw monitor flickering
The capacitors BigTech referred to are C110 & C111, 820uf-25V Electrolytic, on the power supply board.
With minor soldering skills, you can replace them with Radio Shack in-store capacitors, Stock # 272-1032, 1000uf-50V Radial Lead Electrolytics for $1.59 each. Works great!
Four bucks and little bit of time saves the monitor.

Flickering or wavy picture is a very common symptom of failing capacitors in the power supply board. This is a very easy repair, it just requires replacing the 6 capacitors on the power supply board. Here is a link to a repair guide for the SyncMaster 214T which uses the same NP-20 power supply board so the repair information will be the same.

Look for bad caps, very common problem as you can see here:
http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/SAMSUNG/
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Samsung 215TW Monitor Flicker
Its the capacitors on the backlight power supply. Samsung installed crappy ones and they blow up after a year or two. Change out the caps and you're good to go
Samsung SyncMaster 215tw screen goes black after about 1 sec.
I have the same problem its defenitly a problem with the lcd monitor not with the graphics card nor the pc. I hooked up the digital and afterwards the vga connection both had the same result. 1 s perfect screen all visible but than black. pushing the on/off or standby button again shortly 1s the display works than it blanks. Did the same test while connected to a dvd player via the composite video... same problem . Since the previous posts are that old and without a solution I guess there is no hope in getting it fixed.

Hi
Try and change the refresh rate of your monitor by following these options--
1.) Right click on your desktop.
2.) Select Properties.
3.) Click on the Settings tab.
4.) Click on the Advanced button.
5.) Open up the Monitor tab.
6.) Manually increase the Screen Refresh Rate to 75Hz, which is measured in Hertz.
If this doesn't help then check for any electronics item kept near the monitor like speakers, phone, etc. However, if the flickering still doesn't stop then the Internal Flyback Capacitor has gone faulty and you'll need to replace the capacitor. Also, check for the resistor near this capacitor, you may need to replace this as well.
Please post back for any further assistance. If you are satisfied please do accept the solution.
