I just bought a c240 mp3. When I connect it to my computer (Windows xp), the display on the Sandisk indicates "connected" and "writing". However, I have not been able to get the computer to recognize this device and I cannot download anything. Also, it does not seem to charge the battery; it seemed to give it about 1/3 charge with over 10 hours of plug in time. Help! Jim
i had the same problem with my c240..my computer would not recognize that i had connected anything..so i went to settings on the player scrolled down to USB option press ok and changed the setting to MSC instead of auto detect ..i reconnected it and the player came up immediately ..worked for me hope it does for the rest of you..{if anyone knows how to delete songs let me know..thks}

how do u delete songs from sansa e280
Open up your windows media player and click on the sync tab..your device should be listed there..and also it will show you all the songs you have in there...or you can just format the whole player..formatting will erase everything in that player...

i just ran out of memory to store some new songs i have on my pc so i want to delete all of my old songs and put in the new 1s. someone help me please
If you go under settings there is a reset there. You should also be able to access your songs from your PC when u plug in your USB & could delete songs there. Might also want to look into getting a micro SD if u don't already have one. Good luck!

My sandisk c240 will charge, but it is not recognized when i plug it into the computer. No indication of "new hardware found" will pop up on my screen, it's not listed in the drives section of the computer and when i try to sync on media player nothing will show up in the 'device' field. I have tried different computers at work and different usb ports. Do i need to replace the usb cable? I am so sick of my songs..
There is quite possibly a problem with the USB cable or the USB port on the computer, but try this shortcut force to force the computer to recognize the Mp3 player: Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard

I purchased a Sandisk Sansa c240 MP3 player and there was no manual with it. Can someone please tell me where I can download a manual for this?
how to download the instructions manual for sansa Sandisk C240 MP3?

I have 2Gb now will it support 4 or 8?
It depends on the version. v1 players can support up to 2GB. v2 players can support up to 8GB.
You
can find out what version you have by going into Settings -> System
and look at the version. If it starts with a 01 then it's a v1, if it
starts with an 03 then it's a v2.
------------------
You
can use a card up to 8GB if it's a v1 player by installing Rockbox on
it. It's a 3rd party firmware for some mp3 players - although you
should make sure to read any instructions for installing it, as well as
read the manual.
-> Rockbox.org
I will stress this again: make sure you know what you are doing by reading installation instructions and the manual.
In
order to install Rockbox on your player it needs to be in MSC mode
(Settings -> USB -> MSC). If your player doesn't have the USB
option in the Settings menu then you will need to downgrade your
firmware. There's info on this in the Sandisk forums about how to do
this.

Right, well I have a Sansa c240 and a 4 GB Micro SD HC card, I'm not very tech savvy but I don't understand why it wont work. When I plug the card in it takes a while longer for my mp3 to get all loaded and started, but I find none of the music that's on the card can be found on the mp3 player.
This card works in my LG Rumour perfectly fine but eh. I've looked for some answers online and one site mentions something about installing some sort of firmware... but I haven't even the foggiest what that means.
Sansa C240 can only read SD cards that are NOT SDHC - that means it can only read up to a 2gb Micros SD card.

I can only listen on the right side of my headphones. I have a Sansa Fuze 4GB mp3 player.
Have you tried another set of headphones? Normally the headphones wire is what goes, instead of the jack itself.
I've never opened one of those up, but I guess you could re-solder a new jack into it if you were adept at that sort of thing...Finding the right jack is the trick, I'm afraid.
I'd repost your question to the sandisk forum board here. Also see this list. It sounds like yours is a common complaint, and you may have good luck contacting sandisk technical support and getting it repaired...
Good luck.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

I lost my software disk for my sansa c240 mp3 player. where can I find the software that i need to be able to download and upload music onto my player ?
You can try the Sandisk website at http://www.sandisk.com/sandisk-support/driver-download-wizard
to see if you can locate drivers. It looks like just the firmware updater though

I need to install a driver for my sandisk c240
Hello,
You can find the necessary driver at the below manufacturer link:
http://www.sandisk.com/sandisk-support/driver-download-wizard
From there click the drop down menu for your product type, select the c200 series of players towards the bottom.
One option will come up up, select it and press continue, follow the download instructions from there.
Hope this helps!
