Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

Clicks and clicks but wont

Hi.

The TV is in forced standby because an internal fault has been detected. The clicking is the protection circuit that prevents the TV from starting to avoid more damage to internal parts.

You can try disconnecting power cord for ten minutes but I doubt that this will fix the problem. When the TV is in protect mode (that is the name for the "clicking and no power on") repair is usually needed. Testing will start from PSU to inverter passing through main controller board. One of the most common faults affecting this TV is the power supply, but all parts must be tested.

If you want to call a technician ring your local Samsung Support number.

Regards.

Trying to find another way to get over the air

I know some things that can help...you should have a nice digital air tuner in yours...(my girlfriend has nearly the same identical TV, but larger)...anyway, first time I had it 'search' for channels, I accidentally let it tune both Air + Cable, and was surprised when it came up with as many channels over-the-air digital as my own TV did WITH digital air antenna! So, you can scan for both. Secondly, try this site--www.tvfool.com--no kidding, it lets you enter your zip code and antenna height, and it'll give you the various channels you might expect to receive, PLUS what kind of antenna(s) you'd have to buy to get the various types (that's right--'surprise', there are different types of digital signals, jeez)... Finally, go to 'www.monoprice.com' and buy one of their cheap-o (you'd think) but highly-valuable and quality digital air antennas (link at bottom of this post), or the RCA ANT751 antenna, or another good digital air antenna, and you'll have the best outfit you could hope for (unless you still have your old tower, and can put a good one, or larger one, on it!)... That Monoprice 'generic' digital air antenna is the exact same one as you'd pay $60+ for at Radio Shack (I've bought both--I know).... Happy Viewing! that link to buy the Monoprice antenna: >>click here

Samsung LN t4053 H.

Samsung LN-T4053H:
If this set is under warranty you should return it to get it repaired/replaced by the seller. If not then; This sounds like the power supply board could be failing. The electrolytic capacitors on the board may need to be replaced. It may also be a voltage regulator. IF YOU KNOW HOW TO WORK WITH ELECTRONICS REPAIR(soldering ) or have a friend with knowledge/skill you can fix it. >Unplug the set and any cables. >Remove the back cover. The power connects directly to the power supply board. >look at the capacitors on the power supply board. If the top of any of them are bulging up then that is the problem. >You will have to replace ALL the electrolytic capacitors except for perhaps the large one. >Disconnect and remove the power supply board. Handle by the edges to prevent contaminates and static electricity.> Use ones with the Low Equivalent Series Resistance ESR rating> Use ones with the same farad rating > Use ones with the same or higher voltage rating> Use ones with high temperature rating> Install one at a time to prevent mix-up and keep the polarity correct. > Leave a space between the PC board and the bottom of the capacitors for expansion. They heat up.> Replace power supply board and reconnect cables..> Replace back cover. THIS IS AN INDUSTRY WIDE PROBLEM AFFECTING MANY COMPANIES AND PRODUCTS. Sources for some good capacitors are www.digikey.com or NTE. Try nteinc.com for a local outlet of NTE products. You can also search for other sources. Some companies even sell all the capacitors in a kit. Total price of parts should be < $30.00

Yes you can buy a new power board but if the capacitors have not been replaced they will eventually fail also.

I just bought a Samsun

is that the av channel? if so, how do you know your getting a signal from the ps3? try hooking the ps3 up to something else to make sure you have a signal coming out of that cable (this is where you have to start) if you have another device like a DVD player, or VCR, hook that up to the AV input (or channel one as you say). if you get a picture from those devices, the problem is your ps3 not sending the signals to the tv. sorry I can't be more helpful, but that's my guess

Hi,

Something is failing, albeit slowly. By hearing only a click does that mean the sound is dead too? Regardless, you most definitely have a hardware issue.

Get it repaired sooner than later. I am happy to assist you further if you are doing this yourself. I don't recommend it if you are inexperienced with electronics and high voltages.

Not all HDMI standards are the same, some units will NOT work with some sets, sometimes you can get Software upgrades to make some work. You would have to check that out with the manufacturers of your equipment.
