My labtop tosheba before it

Hi,

Welcome to FixYa! Since you said it's able to play dvd before, you can go ahead and try to do a System Restore going back to the time when the computer is able to play dvd. Or, you can go ahead and access the registry and change some settings. Last option is to run the Autofix from Microsoft.

How to do a System Restore:

1. Click Start

2. Click All Programs

3. Click Accessories

4. Click System Tools

5. Click System Restore

6. Choose a Restore Point or Date when you think that the laptop is able to play DVD

7. Click Start

This is gonna be a bit complicated since were going to access your registry, but just follow all the steps and it will be much easier.

1. Click on START

2. Type REGEDIT on the search bar on START Menu on the Run Box

3. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

4. Expand SYSTEM

5. Expand CurrentControlSet

6. Expand Control

7. Expand Class

8. Click {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

9. Look for the Upper Filters / right click on it / click on Delete

10. Look for the Lower Filters / right click on it / click on Delete

11. Restart PC

12. Try you CD / DVD ROM

If nothing happens, click on this link then click on RUN and follow the steps, then restart computer and try to run a disc again, if still nothing happens, theres a possibility that the problem is with the hardware side or the media player that you are you using...

Hope this will help...Thank you for using Fixya...

The movies come out distorted

had the same issue. the problem could possibly be:

bad disc burner
wrong disc format
or simply the quality of the program

i had this issue with power director 7.0 and i payed for upgrades and it worked fine. the quality is poor with these programs, and instead of wasting time fixing it, i would suggest investing in a pc or mac disc software for making movies. my power director came with my computer, but if you purchased yours, i would take a look at your burner or disc. overall, i think this program has poor quality, and its not worth your time. i hope this helped, and if you wish to continue using this software, look into the following problems above.
