HP iPAQ hw6915 Smartphone Questions & Answers
HW6915 GSM losing signal
you have paid in full phone service, for GSM?
if yes name it>? seems other want it bet is not available.
if skype , you need internet for that. not phone side.
wifi , Wi-Fi 802.11b (use this in your home? at your wifi router?)
we use skype, via wifi at home and g4 on to move. (not free latter)
the PHONE side needs a service provider
or is useless, as a brick
call your local service providers yet, for GSM phone service
i bet most will decline you, (not a smart phone)
I read even when this phone had service, internet use was greatly limited,,
why not get a used smart phone and update.

I have an iPaq hw6915 that keeps crashing even
It is more likely to be some kind of system corruption. If you have not installed much software and don't stand to lose much if you were to reinitialize the system, I would try a hard reset if all else has failed.
The OS is non writable, so it would be very difficult for anyone to hack into while you are online, unlike a desktop or laptop system, which is far more vulnerable to such attacks. These PDAs are however vulnerable to power surges and power cuts when connected via the cradle etc. I would also agree with others that the battery is certainly a weak point with these models, although personally I am not willing to pay out HP prices for a replacement each year, and mine also tends to show 80% charge much of the time.
You should also probably be more specific about your description of the fault - under what conditions does it crash, for example?
Alarm not sounding & notifications not displaying +- syncing
Hi. First of all, I think the hard reset is not the first solution, but it's the last and the absolute solution. But in case if it is needed you can perform it by:
The phone buttons + reset & power = hard reset.
Firstly, tap the Start and the Settings. There, find the Sounds & Notifications. Ensure that the first 3 of the checkboxes are checked. And select the second tab to configure your notification sounds and vibration settings. After you've done these, you can try to set an alarm and check if your PDA notifies you. If not, you can also give a try to this free alarm application (http://www.ageye.de/download/galarm.cab) for your PDA. If none of these work, you can try to hard reset your device, but you should backup all your data before a hard reset since all the data will be lost after a hard reset. Hope this helps.
My HP Ipaq 6915 goes off at 60% battery level or
Hello,
The batteries from Ebay that are from China have lots of issues. I use an HP 6945 phone/pda and had the same issue with my original battery. I tried a cheap battery and it died within 2 months. I ordered an HP original battery and have been using it again full strength for 7 months. The new battery works bluetooth, wi-fi and gps as well as phone down to about 15% before I recharge. The HP batteries are more expensive but they are worth the extra price.

Try a Reset....
Performing a Clean Reset will help
A clean reset clears all user-installed settings, programs, and data, and restores
your HP iPAQ to factory settings.
To perform a clean reset and return your HP iPAQ to factory settings:
1.Press and hold the Answer/Send, Power, and End Call buttons.
2.While holding these buttons, use the stylus to lightly press the Reset button on the bottom of the HP iPAQ until the device restarts.
3.When the HP iPAQ restarts, release all of the buttons, and then remove the stylus from the Reset button.
The HP iPAQ restarts and powers on.
Thanks
