Epson Stylus 1400 InkJet Photo Printer - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
The screen saying the printer at the end of it service
end of it service = the printer has an expected number of pages it can print, beyond that the printer will start to fail out of old age and wear. Both printers have reached that limit, nothing more that can be done to revive them. Junk them and buy new ones.

what? you expect me to give you an answer to my own problem for nothing while you want to charge me $20 for "maybe" some help to resolve my printer issue? You've got to be kidding! What a "chintzy" way to make a buck!
Epson 1400 cartridge carriage jammed
The cleaning unit may still be engaged with the cartridge carriage. There may be a release mechanism on the side of the cleaning unit. The cover will have to be removed to see if that is the case. Another cause could be that the shaft or rail that the carriage travels on is quite dirty. It can be cleaned with alcohol to remove the dirt. That might be what is loading down the motor. Good Luck.

Both lights on Epson 1400 are flashing, but
Same problem here. I found out that the problem is the waste ink pad needs to be replaced and I can't find one anywhere. Then after that is done, you have to use a utility software that is availabe only for PC and I a Mac user. I have a PC I can run it on luckily, but too bad for those who don't. Problem now is, I haven't found the software that supports the 1400. Sounds like sabotage by Epson to force us to buy another printer. If so, I'll switch to HP.
Epson printer 1400, is printing vertical blue lines through my prints. How can I eliminate them?
If the lines are vertical to the direction of the printhead movement, you need to clean the paper rollers and the small "pizza wheels" of your printer. Also check for any traces of stuck paper in the paper path. I recon you ars not using genuine inks, right? Try to slow down your print speed by selecting a best quality setting.
If the lines are parallel to the printhead movement, your printhead is either clogged our stuck.
Epson 1400 Printing Orange colors Green
The problem can be two fold. Wrong cartridges, or blocked/damaged inkjet openings. Return it to the seller under warranty if its brand new. If it was fitted with non epson cartridges your warranty may be in question.
But I could almost guarantee the black qand the blue cartridges are faulty or their feed jets are

Hi there
You can try see if this may do it.
Go to Start / Run and type in "services.msc" without quotation marks, then press Enter or click OK.
In the window that opens (Services) look for "Print Spooler" on the right
Right-click "Print Spooler" and select "Properties".
Click on the "Recovery" tab and change all 3 drop-down boxes to "Restart The Service".
Make sure the 2 text boxes underneath say "1" in them.
Click Ok until you are back at the Services window, close it and you're good to go.
Go back into the properties of the "Print Spooler" tab and be sure to click Start to restart the Print Spooler service and it will restart the service immediately.
The Print spooler depends on the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service. Is this service disabled? Go to services.msc look for RPC. Check state: Automatic
Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

No power to epson 1400
I'm guessing you may have tried these already but in case you haven't
- Try a different compatible power cable, preferably one that is known to work already
- Test the power socket with a known working device to ensure the socket works
It's entirely possible the problem isn't the power supply but the power button on the printer so some basic disassembly to access the button panel may identify something like a slipped wire or ribbon cable.I wouldn't recommend disassembly to remove and check the power supply/transformer itself as they invariably contain capacitors which you should
never mess with.Hope that's of some help.
