Have you tried the windows updates
if you cannot update the driver from there then

if you go to www.toshiba.com then support/downloads type in your make model and operating system and look for the drivers and lots of sites have a scanner to detect what updates or drives you need

Its normally quite easy to remove the dvd drive just a couple of screws underneath

But if you havent got the manual for your laptop then you could go to www.toshiba.com then to support/downloads type in your make model and look for the manual and download it

you will need adobe reader installed to read it and save the download to your desktop or pendive for future and easy use
