Toshiba Satellite A135-S4527 Notebook - Page 7 Questions & Answers
Hi
i want to download
Go here:
http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=1845345&rpn=PSL48U&modelFilter=L45-S7423&selCategory=2756709&selFamily=1073768663
All of the drivers for that laptop are listed for download.
If you can't find an XP driver for the wireless adapter there, you will need to use a program like Everest to figure out what brand/model the wireless adapter is and use that to find an xp driver for it, if one exists.
You can download Everest here:

I hope this helps! If this did help you, please give a thumbs up!
Thank you for choosing FixYa!

Have toshiba laptop a200 with
Go to http://support.toshiba.com and then choose Laptop / Satellite / and your model and then all drivers will be displayed when you choose your operating system. It think this is an older model, if that is the case and no drivers available, then you may need to google it or under Control Panel under System and Security, choose Find and fix problems. In Windows 7, a lot of times, this tool can find the driver for you from Toshiba's site.

Im running a external
Windows XP:By default, all laptops either go on standby or turn off to save
precious battery, but you can override these rules from the Power
Options (XP) in your control panel (
Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > Power Options) and click on
Advanced Tab and override the settings according to your preference.
I
prefer "Do nothing" while closing the lid. Although this is real
simple, few of us might not know it. I
Windows Vista/7:
How to Stop Laptop/Notebook Goes To Sleep or Hibernation when Closing Lid in Windows Vista
- Log on to your computer as an administrator. Click on Start, go to Control Panel -> System and Maintenance -> Power Options.
- Click on Change plan settings for the currently active plan.
- Click on Change advanced power settings link.
- In the "Power Options" dialog box's "Advanced Settings" tab for the active power plan, expand Power buttons and lid.
- Expand Lid close action.
- Change the value to Do nothing for "Lid close action" by selecting a new option from drop down menu for both On battery and Plugged in.
Based on own preference, it's possible to set other action from the
menu too. Available for selection is Do nothing, Sleep, Hibernate and
Shutdown.
- Click OK button.

0701 usb over current on hc/port error
I had the same problem on a toshiba satellite u400.
Usb over current on port ... blabla..
Please press F1 to resume or F12 to install.
F1 just ended up in a screen asking to press F2 or F12 which did nothing.
F12 did nothing.
Rebooting the pc ended in a black screen with a flickering HD symbol.
To be able to boot again on the BIOS I had to remove the battery and disconnect the plug.
Once It restarted booting on the error USB over current.
Si I took a USB mouse and tried to boot with the mouse plugged in on port , then another ... at the third port the PC booted normally with no error :)
Don't have any idea why it became faulty but it's now solved for me.

Wireless drivers missing after downgrading
Most Toshibas drivers are specifically written for vista or windows 7. Ive noticed many problems when downgrading some machines especially with the drivers. If you haven't already, go to toshiba's website to search the drivers. If not, a 10$ program named "driver genius" works fairly well. I use it on a lot of computers that are having driver issues. Especially from a downgrade. Hope this helps!

I would like to reset
There might be a restore partition. This is only possible if your laptop has such a partition. Otherwise, you will need to get the recovery Disc.
If you have such a partition, you should see a reference to it when booting up - F12 or something. If you have it, then go through it.

No problem really. I do think the fan is working
Yes. The best is to use a can of compressed air to blow any dust or hair out the keyboard and from around the fan exhaust. Any deeper cleaning would need to be done by a professional.

I have a Toshiba Satellite
Welcome to Fixya.
It seems like you are experiencing a "No power/no post" issue on your laptop, here are my recommendations :
- Disconnect everything attached to your laptop (USB cables, etc)
- Disconnect the ac adapter
- Carefully remove the laptop's battery
- Press and hold down on the power button for at least 10 seconds
- Connect the ac adapter to laptop without the battery and turn it on
- If this works, return the battery to the laptop and try it again with the ac adapter
If none of the above procedure works, then the laptop needs to be serviced. I've included Toshiba's support contacts below for your further reference :
