This does not appear to be a camera

If there is a film in the camera, then the interlock will prevent the film being wound on. Can you operate the shutter, or is that locked too ? If you are willing to sacrifice the film in the camera, open the back and remove it, then try again with an empty camera.

Try formatting the card in the camera

Copy files to your computer, then format card in the camera.

Only Pentax DA and FA J lenses and D FA/FA/F/A lenses having an "A" position on the aperture ring can be used with this camera. The lens you have is HSM DG

Although it has a manufacturer's name of Pentax, I don't think this is a camera. Industrial Machinery may be a better option.

First verify the battery is ok, that would be the most common reason, you can get batteries on eBay for a reasonable cost, if the battery is not the problem replace the camera, the cost to repair is outrageous.

A brief look in the manual, or a Google search, would tell you that this camera takes SD cards.

Do you mean your photographs are under-exposed ? If so, adjust your shutter speed or aperture accordingly

The camera will not deface your pictures by scrawling a string of numbers across it. The date and time are stored with the picture. Any good photo editing program will be able to print the date/time, either on the picture, in the margins, or on the b\ack, depeding on the printer.

Transfer the photos to your computer as usual, perform whatever post-processing you require, then open the Word document and import the images.

We need far more information - lens in use, shutter speed and aperture settings, white balance setting, ISO setting, exposure compensation, lighting conditions, subject matter etc. All of these have a bearing on exposure. From your description, it sounds as if your images are seriously under exposed. Have you looked in the trouble-shooting section of the camera manual ?
