Good luck.

How to recover pix from
Take no more pics until you've recovered your photos, take the card out of the camera. This is to reduce the chance of you overwriting some of your "lost" photos. There are many good freeware photo recovery software options that may help you recover your photos.
This article reviews and outlines several of the better ones:

How to UnlockSD Card

I know how it can be frustrating not to loose your files..............my recommendation may be a bit hard but it is tried and tested.
- Have your camera format it that is if you believe that the card is not faulty.
- Use the card any how you want!
- Get a recovery software which will recover all files that was deleted no matter what you did to the card and use it to recover all your old pictures . (i can provide this software for free if you so wish)
good luck and let me know the outcome
Write protected memory card
Hello
OK, if the memory card itself is locked, you might
sometimes get this error code. All you need to do is to take out the
memory card and switch the lever on the left side to the unlock.
If
the error is still displayed after you did the above, you might want to
try the card in another camera.
If
the card works in another camera . the problem is with your card reader
in your camera.
If you open you sd slot and look inside with a
sharp light , you should be able to see on the left side of the slot
there is a little copper or spring steel lever switch. This switch work
as follows:
1. When no card is inserted / no write protection ,
the switch is open and thus the protection is off.
2. When locked
card is inserted , the tab is depressed and tells the camera that the
card is lock.
Contrary to popular belief ,the little tab on the
sd card is not an electronic switch and does not physically influence
the card operation itself. If you put a locked card into a camera
without a sd lock switch , you would still be able to use the card
normally.
It is incredible difficult to fix this switch because
of space limitations in the sd card. Look into the sd slot and if you
can see the switch , use a needle to pull the little tab down toward the
base of the camera by about 2mm or until it works being careful not to
bend it.
If this does not resolve your problem , there might be a
short in the switch circuit and the camera will need to be disassembled
to resolve this error. This should cost no more than $50.
Please
feel free to contact me if you need further information
Kind

Hello.
Try removing the SD card and then turn it on again. Did you drop your camera before you experience the issue?
When I try to use
Welcome to Fixya
Sounds like a problem with the hardware already. You may try to reset the camera to factory default state. This will resolve minor software problem. If issue is not resolve, you need to bring the camera to nearest olympus service center. To reset the camera: have the camera in shooting mode - press Menu - left arrow to reset and press Ok. You will see Reset Yes or No. Highlight Yes and press Ok. This will reset the camera to factory settings.

I Need software for olumpus
You can download Olympus software from
http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/software_results.asp?id=1283
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

I Have olympus fe230 7.1 mp digicam it does not
You say you bought a new battery pack but have you actually checked it with a meter to make sure it has sufficient power?
I picked up an fe-230 used that had no batteries and bought a set of 2 batteries and a charger off ebay. According to the light on the charger the batteries are charged and ready. Only they aren't according to my meter. The el cheapo fleabay charger is no good.
So assume nothing and check your battery with a meter and go from there.
When i turn it on the lens go in and out in and
Hi
your unit has defective lens unit. it just need replacement. you can bring to local repair shop. they would charge around $ $45 to 75 depend on what they really want to charge.
Thanks and best regard!
Can I change the color of pictures to black and
The FE-230 doesn't have a black&white mode. However, just about any photo editing program will give you the capability of converting color pictures to black&white. Doing so on a computer also gives you much more control over things like brightness and color.
