when i turn the LCD on the picture comes up for a couple of seconds then it turns dark but you can still hear the sounds...no picture of anything
We may neet to begin contacting the attourney general. Seriously we may all have to write letters. I am willing to organize this if others post a willingness to engage in this process. Samsug customer service told me that what people report on the internet has nothing to do with Samsung. I explained that I was not wanting to report to the internet, that I was calling to report my number to them. It took some arm twisting to get her to give me a contact on who to report the problem too. They won't listen to internet blogs and I don't blame them for that. However, I was reporting directly to Samsung and they did not want that too happen either. That is not ok. We need to get the attourney general involved. Who is with me?

Where can I purchase a replacement for crack LCD BOARD. The screen was hit with WI and cracked.
my toodler threw the remote at the lcd and it has a crack on the "inside". there is no picture, just streaks of color running down the middle of the tv. there is sound. can this problem be repaired, replaced or should I just get another tv.
I have a crack in the LCD panel of my 3 month old Sony Bravia TV. Ive been researching and it seems that the Panel itself is more money then the entire TV unit. How is this? To replace the panel cost up to $3400.00 dollars the TV was bought for $2900.00 I know there is a service charge involved but it seems uneconomical and un fair.
I also have a damaged lcd tv panel. I was goofing around and accidentally flipped a golf ball into my 46 inch samsung lcd tv. I have no picture, but I do see a pattern where the ball hit the screen that looks similar to what glass looks like that's been hit by a rock. I also see vertical colors, but no picture. There appears to be no external damage to the screen, just internal. The sound still works. This tv cost about 2500 bucks and is only nine months old. I have really enjoyed the tv and I'm sick over this. Will it be worth the cost of repair or should I just buy a new one? Any advice would be appreciated.
I had one broken a few months ago. I got a couple quotes.. it was about $200 less then a brand new one. I'd just buy a new one.
For the new TV I'd pickup a screen protector for it. My son threw a toy at my TV the other day and I nearly had a heart attack from the flashbacks. Thank God I picked up one of these a few weeks earlier. It stopped it. LCD screens really break easily as you know. http://www.tv-armor.com

I have a thin veritical yellow line appearing on my 46 inch Samsung LCD TV. The TV is about 4 months old. What do you think is causing the problem and is there a fix? This line appears on all inputs for TV, Tivo, Console Gaming, etc.
Unplug for 30 seconds from it's power source and then try it again. If that doesn't work, call Samsung for further troubleshooting and have your model number and serial number handy. Please be prepared to tell them how long the line is.

My tv just started doing this yesterday (clicking when turning on but seeing no picture) and it's only 8 months old. I have an extended warranty but would like to know what your resolution to the problem was or is.
Thanks,
Jim
We have the same problem with our 46" Samsung LCD Tv LNT-4665F. It's only 2 years old and unfortunately it's out of warranty too. Our tv would not power on and just does this clicking sound. We called to get it serviced and we will need to pay $95 to have somebody comeout and diagnose the problem or we bring it to the shop and pay $50 to diagnose the problem. we've never had any problem with our SONY TVs. we regret buying Samsung!

When I turn the TV on the picture and sound come on for a split second, then the sound stays on but the picture goes black. I can't pull up the menu or anything. It's like the tv just shuts down the picture but still plays the audio. Any ideas?
Try a hard restart, which simply means unplugging the power cord of the TV, and replugging it after 4 hours have passed. This technique reprograms the electronics, to a certain extent. If the picture does not return, then you have a more serious problem, that requires the attention of a TV repairman.

Model Number: LC19SB24U, Serial Number: 805908690
No power, Power light just blinks red and nothing else happens?
The tv is NOT in standby mode... it does not have a standby mode !!! But what is happening is.. your tv is getting lamp errors. this can be caused by voltage drops and spikes while the tv is on... and a factory reset can correct this. OR it can be one of two problems.. Bad Power supply or defective lcd panel.

My Samsung TV (LNT4665FX/XAA) is not coming on. When you hit the power button the tv starts clicking like it is trying to come on but you never get a picture.
G'Day!
I
have over 10 years experience in electronic tech
support.
I
know this isn't what you want to hear, but the problem you've
described can't be fixed with troubleshooting.
Your TV
will have to be repaired. There is a part that has developed a defect
and needs to be replaced. If you're still in warranty, the TV will be
repaired at no charge to you. The warranty would likely be at least
one year from the date of purchase from the manufacturer. If you
purchased an extended service
plan
they will repair the TV at no charge as well.
If the TV is no
longer in warranty, it will likely cost a minimum of $150 parts and
labor. This is assuming that you only need one circuit
board
or small part. If the problem is more than one of the circuit boards,
the price of repair could go much higher.
I hope I've provided
you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an
informed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure to
vote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you
today.
Please post a comment if you need further assistance so
that I can help you further.

when i turn on my tv i get pink dots all over the screne. when i turn it off and back on again the pixels go away.
I had a problem with the TV going on and off several times before "warming up" and then having pink dots. I would have to reboot to get rid of the dots. I called 1-800-SAMSUNG and reported that I had problems with the capacitors. That is what was causing the problems - cheap capacitors and Samsung is aware that this has caused many TV's to malfunction. My set was not under warranty but Samsung sent a technician across two state lines to fix my TV. As long as the problem is the capacitors Samsung will cover this service call 100%. My TV is fine now. BTW - capacitors which are sold in Radio Shack are not expensive. Why Samsung chose to put the cheapest Korean capacitors in their expensive TVs is a mystery.
So if your TV need warming up and has pink dots on the screen - call 1-800 -SAMSUNG and tell them your capacitors are malfunctioning.

I'm having the same issues apparently thousands of Samsung LCD TV owners are having with there sets. Power on recycling multiple times and then displaying a pink dotted screen. Turn off then on again, and it appears fine. Getting worse with time. Assuming power capacitor issues.
Rather then de-soldering and soldering on new capacitors, I would just like to replace the power board. I don't feel comfortable soldering the replacement capacitors onto the power board.
But, which board do I purchase? My Samsung TV Model Number: LNT4665F, Samsung Model Code: LNT4665FX/XAA
Do I purchase the BN44-00168B Power Board or the BN44-00168A Power Board?
By the way, are these upgraded quality power capacitors on the power board or the same as the TV origonally came with?
Thank you
Howdy,
It would be a lot cheaper if you just replace the two caps that have gone bad. Just get a cheap solder pencil from the store and about an inch of solder and you are in business.
The Power Supply Board is the center Board (towards left) after you remove the back off the TV. Remove Board from TV with the 6-7 screws. Replace capacitors CM852 & CM853; 2200ufd 25volts.
Thaks for using FIXYA, BIG IRISH.

Samsung TV is solarizing. Turned contrast to lowest setting and increased brightness just little. Image is dark and color is uniform across the screen; but not what it was. Looking through different web posting, the T-Com board is mostly called out. Is this my best bet or should I be looking at a different component?
Definitely a tcon board fault
