Kodak EasyShare C875 Digital Camera - Page 3 Questions & Answers
Loses power and shuts down
Keep the menu button pressed while you power on the camera. It may take several tries before the camera successfully powers on. This is a known problem with c875.
Sandisk sdhc card
The C875 works with MMC and SD cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.
Lens stuck
Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...
Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try that may (or may not) correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try. Some of the later steps do involve some risk to the camera, so carefully weigh your options before deciding to conduct them. And here's a video summary of some of the steps (much more detail and other steps is provided at the above website):
How do I format the card?
First, know that this will erase the card so download any pics you want to save first. Then, go into the menu and find "format" and follow the on-screen instructions.

Hi!
If the photos have been deleted but NO NEW ONES HEV BEEN SAVED TO THE CARD, it is very likely to recover them all.
To do so you need one of those free recovery programs out there.
I use Power Data Recovery Free edition 6.5. It is free and fully working for home users.
After downloading and installing the programm please plug your data card in via card reader, and follow the steps in the recovery program.
Good luck!

Install new charged rechargable batteries
Is your newly charged battery are new? Maybe your battery is worn out already. Or buy a new rechargable batteries and observe. Remember do not over charge your battery, this is always the reason why your battery got easily worn out. Thanks

Usually, the lenswork's taken in a grain of sand or been accidentally muscled sideways (or gently touched by a vibration in a large stone, as it were.) So you have to find the right moment to nudge the lens back into the proper tracks or knock the sand out. Stripping and reassembling it is an effective but hard way compared to patience and sighting the sand. Plus if you get 30 grains out, you get a laugh.
I am having problems importing
Flash read/write chips draw some current doing what they do, and it's unsurprising that the supply (or decoupling, esp. if polyester types) capacitors if not the chip itself goes bad over time. However, first you get to knock out the chance of the flash memory going bad by trying a fresh SD card or two, and checking that your firmware's already the latest (Kodak pushed an update or two.) Mask off the flash circuit (gloved!) if you do crack the case; it's a gas discharge type. Then just look for polyester capacitors near the chips....
What memory card can i put in my easyshare c875
The C875 works with MMC and SD cards. MMC cards are going obsolete, so you'll probably not be able to find many of them. When getting an SD card, make sure it's not an SDHC card. SD cards top out at 2GB while SDHC cards start at 4GB and go up from there. SDHC cards will not work in the C875.

Kodak c875 digital camera: flash has stopped
Replacing the flashtube is not something you can do. It requires complete disassembly of the camera and delicate soldering skills. It must be sent to an authorized Kodak repair facility. It will cost a lot.
