How can you turn off the date stamp on sony cybershot DSC-w570

I had a problem "turning it on"! It is a complex process to turn on which Canon did in a very Japanese way, - meaning never straight forward. review previous post: http://www.fixya.com/support/t4016284-turn_date_stamp_canon_powershot_sd750 note time stamp meant for PostCard size pictures ( lower resolution and more square in format). hit function keys as instructed above to get to the "size" of picture. change from Post Card to Large, Medium or any other size. Should solve this.

My display screen in black but i can see all other symbols on the display.

It sounds like your display is working, but not getting a signal from the sensor. When you take a picture and open it on your computer, is it blank? If so there is either something blocking the lens (possibly the shutter) or the sensor is not working. If you get a picture on your computer, then it may be something loose in the camera connection between the sensor and the LCD. You can buy a working camera (the same SD750) for less than $50 on ebay I am sorry to say, but it would cost more to fix your camera.

I spilled coffee in the console of my car where my Cannon powershot SD1200IS was sitting

ELECTRICAL contact spray can work. designed for sensitive situations. Also, electrical cleaner, or spray a bit into a cap and cotton swab it on affected areas to blot and absorb the coffee impurities out. There should be a few micro stainless steel screws that hold the body housing. Take this off and clean with cotton and electrical spray all impurities on the circuit board. The circuit for the screen is likely not getting the signal to display. Also requires certain voltage that might be too low. For really gummed up stuff, try micro drops of Superzilla to clean, but blot off with alcohol after cleaning is completed. That stuff can eat the plastic eventually if left on but is harmless to damaging metal or glass. Non-toxic Superzilla.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries. Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Can I get a still photo from a video taken with my SD750?

Just about any video-editing program should be able to isolate single frames from your video. It won't be a very good picture, since the video mode records at most two megapixels per frame instead of the seven megapixels the camera can record for stills.

I have a cannon ixus 75 can i charge it from a laptop

Probably not, USB does not provide enough current to charge this type of battery, ergo Canon does not support USB charging. You can buy a third party charger and battery set for not very much and keep this camera working.

Flash not working hoe can you tell if light bulb is burnt

Hi Tamara. Only a technical can tell, when opening the flash. (In your case the whole camera.) Sometimes, when you look very good, you can see the light bulb is black on one (or both) side(s). But usually the technician would measure the high voltage on the capacitor and wheel the flash is triggered he will check if the thyristor fires. But not being a technician, please don't open the camera and never play with an open flash light, because the voltage even in a small camera can be very hight.

Press cursor-down (marked with a one-handed clock). Use cursor-up.down to select ten second, two second, or custom. Full details are in the "Using the Self-Timer" section of the basic manual (page 17 in my copy). If you need a manual, you may download a copy from here.
