They are not that bright light conditions. But if you cannot see anything at all something is wrong. Try it in a completely dark room and see if you can see the menu for settings - brightness.

The GPS has gone bad. I would say just the speakers, but with bluetooth going out also, it is time for a new unit.

The car charger input is +12VDC and +5VDC at the plug that plugs into the Nuvi. Make sure your car +12V outlet is working. Try another device in the outlet. Check that the fuse in the charger tip isn't blown. The tip unscrews. Be careful, the charger tip, fuse and spring can shoot out. Cup your hand over the end while you use the other hand to slowly unscrew the charger tip. You can have a bad charger plug or cradle. I had this problem when I did a map up-date, it didn't complete right. Try re-installing latest map up-date

The touchscreen is a 4 conductor flat flex cable that connects to the motherboard by sliding into the latching connector on the board. The loose red wire that you have is most likely one lead of the microphone that is used for bluetooth. With is loose, bluetooth audio will no longer work with your phone.

I had the same issue, i'm still using in 2019.. and all in Sudden no signal started appearing.. I tested all possible methods, but none of them worked.. today in morning, I opened my garmin's GPS module, and the cable was out form the circuit.. I fixed that back and wow.. it worked great. You should have tried this too.. like open the garmin screen, and then check if cable is fully afixed or not.

Is it still under warranty? If so, or even if not, call the Company, it could be a Manufacturer defect!

I have the same issue however i tried connecting the device to several computers and they do not pick it up....holding the device power and reset button doesn't work either as i am yet to see the facepalm you guys are talking about...what should I do...at the point of giving up
