using the USB to connect the gps is for transferring files and updates, you will not see the map while using the usb connection.... you can charge the unit this way but it may take 3 to 4 hours to fully charge..


to connect to computer.... Turn the gps Off.... connect the USB cable to computer... the computer will then dedect new hardware (usb) a pop up box will appear

Have you tried a system update via PC?

I am very sorry to hear that you are having problems with the unit. You
may need to switch the unit on and press and hold the centre of the
screen until the message ?No detailed maps? message disappears.

If your map detail is missing, then the map information may have been
disabled. To check to see if the mapping has been disabled, follow the
steps below:

From the Where to? and View Map page, touch the Spanner icon, settings
(Tools).
Touch Map.
Touch Map Info.
The unit should display the name of the map that is loaded to the unit.
The box in front of the map name should have a tick in it. If it does
not, touch the box to place a tick in it.

Then please test by searching for an address.

The Radio Shack replacement fuse part number for the Garmin gps car charger is not easy to find. Here is the Radio Shack Garmin gps fuse replacement part number for the Garmin car charger: Part # 270-1052 It is a 2-Amp, 250-Volt fuse, measures 5mm x 20mm and comes in a package of 4 fuses for about $4.00.

On the plug charger unscrew the silver or black bottom tip of plug.. you can probably get a fuse from radio Shack or any Electrical supply store.

it will charge while in the off position, providing there is power to it via the usb cable,car charger or home charger.

you can tell the status of the battery by starting the 660 and hit ok on the agreement page then you should be in the main menu...the battery should be at the top right of the screen showing the state of the battery..all green means fully charge. the satiellites are to the top left.

it sounds like you may have just deselected the maps.

go to tools settings map then map info(bottom of the screen)

check that there is a tick next to your mapset if not just tap the name of the map and you should be sorted out.
