Computer won't power off
The most common reason for this problem is that ACPI (the Advanced Configuration and Power
Interface) isn't enabled. To enable it:
Click Start | Control Panel, select Performance and Maintenance.
Click the Power Options tab.
Select APM - Enable Advanced Power Management Support.
Click OK.
Syncronizing games
It could be a slow internet connection, alot of pwople on the game server, or a video card that is not quite capable of keeping up in multiplayer mode. First try lowering your game settings to see if that cures the synching and lagging. If it does then you know it's a video card issue. If not then it is an isp issue. Hope this helps.

Sound not working properly
Hi ragnar590,
Please go over pages 5-12 to 5-17 in your manual.
Allow Realtek's auto jack-sensing software to detect your sound jack. If this software is not installed, install it. (Double check your speaker system by plugging into another PC). If after doing all this & you still have intermittent sound, either the jack coming off the board is bad or the onboard sound chip is bad. The Asus P5ND2-SLI was made in 2005 & is no longer in warranty. You can also try setting up the front panel audio coming off the board if your case has front or side audio/mic jacks. See page 2-31 in your manual.
It this options works than the problem is with the rear sound jack.
If this does not give you sound than the audio chip is the problem. Suggest you buy a PCI sound card & disable the onboard ALC850 within the bios.
Good luck ragnar590!
Mike
Cleaned, now it dont work!
Reseat all the cable, double check to make sure every place that a cable goes, there is a cable there, especially the four pronged one near the CPU.
Beep Codes?
Hi,
This board has been known to have some issues, the Asus' PEG optimizations aren't fully supported by some video cards like the Gigabyte GeForce 6600 GT. One example of a fully supporting video card is the Asus Extreme Radeon EAX1900XTX.
If possible, try using a different video card (one that supports Asus' PEG optimizations - PEG Link Mode overclocking feature; PEG Link for single/dual graphics cards
). Or you may want to try and disable the PEG entirely.
Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turn up or should you need further information.
Good luck and kind regards.
CPU Fan Fail
Need more info on where/how the fan is plugged in - as soon as you plug it in to a three prong pinout on the motherboard it should start spinning.
What is the make of the fan?
How do I enhance my Asus PadFone X mini speaker loudness?
Look for a program called Sound Booster or one called DFX. DFX is my favorite because it not only boosts the volume, but lets you add other effects to enhance you sound as well. There is a free version. but to get all the effects you have to upgrade to the paid. If audio is important to you, check it out.
How to fix sound is not working in my asus laptop?
Try going into sound select and test reinstall driver off Asus website..if you installed new windows or update drivers may not work right...see if you can roll back driver in device manager ..if not lookup your laptop model and reinstall...
