Bissell 1699 ProHeat Clear View Upright Steam Vacuum - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Bissell proheat tank-in-tank doesn't seat
Similar problem still looking for a solution...
I observe that if I press down firmly on the clean tank while pulling the trigger, that it dispenses the correct volume of solution, but that's an awkward action to do while also doing the wet runs back and forth.

Bissell carpet cleaner does not suction
Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.
If the dust cup is too full, there is no space for the dirt to go when you are vacuuming. To fix this, remove the dust cup and empty the it. If your vacuum is still not picking up dirt after emptying the dust cup, there may be something blocking the airway. There are two places where you can check for a blockage: the dust cup air duct and the intake opening behind the brush roll. To check for a blockage in the dust cup air duct stand the vacuum upright and remove the dust cup. Now you can disconnect the super stretch hose and check for clogs in the air duct behind the dust cup. If that is not the case, to check for a clog near the roller brush lay the vacuum down. Next check the opening behind the brush roll for clogs. If there is debris, clean the opening with scissors, carefully cutting away any debris.
Uncleaned filters may also the reason why your vacuum has lost suction. To clean the foam and felt filters, remove the dust cup and pull out the two filters that are on the top of the motor base. Rinse the filters with lukewarm water until the water is running clear. Let the filters dry fully before putting them back into the vacuum. If your vacuum is still not picking up dirt, you may need to replace it.
Unfortunately, if none of the other solutions worked, your motor is going bad. Most of the time a new motor costs as much as the vacuum itself and it is not easy to replace the motor. It may be time for a new vacuum.

Bissell Pump Weak?
Often times I see the pumps clogged with soap when acting like you described. This can cause a pump to be weak. Pressure builds up whe you stop squirting water but tapers off quickly. A few times I've been able to get water flowing good but most times have to replace the pump.

How do I fix my carpet cleaner
It is not an easy project. It could be several issues.
1) Heater clogged up.
2) Solenoid valve(s) not working.
3) Pump not pumping.
Here is one thing you can try. Fill the bladder with hot tap water. Try spraying form the hose only. (Do not attach any of the attachments to it. Just spray directly from the hose.) It may take a minute or so but many times it can prime itself and start working after doing this.
If it is any of the problems above this will not fix it.

Put belts on a Bissell pro heat 2x
Call the Bissell Consumer Care at 1-800-237-7691 something doesn't sound right. Are you sure you followed the detailed install instructions that should have come with the new belts? I'd check that first and if you did then call them.

It cleans as a carpet cleaner but when pulling the handle down to wash no water
Mine had a clogged heater owing to corrosion in the metal inlet/outlet area. I pulled the handle apart and pulled the hoses off the heater and scraped out the crud, and it's worked fine ever since.
If it's not that, then it could be the pump.
If it is the first problem, ALWAYS run clear water water through the unit for a bit before you put it away after using it. I believe that it is the soap that accelerates the corrosion.
Good luck!

Clean the filter. If it still keeps shutting off carry it down to the street and hang sign on it saying "free"
