I need help changing my password
To change the password of your wireless router, you would need to access the user interface of the router.
- launch internet explorer
- go to 192.168.1.1 (that is the normal router address) if you have any you can type it.
- once you are in the router user interface locate security options and from there you can find or access changing the password for your router.
Cheers . . .

I will be able to help you with this. First can you tell me the model reversion of your D-Link router. Look on the bottom and see if its Reversion A, B, C, D, or E. Then we can go onto securing the router.
How do I reset the security?
Hi,
Login to the router and you will have the option to disable security in the settings page.
In case you would like to wipe everything clean you will need to hard reset the router for this.
There is a small hole at the back of the router. Use a straightened paper clip to press a button in that and hold for 10 seconds, till you see all the lights blink on the router.
Once this is done, the router will be back to its factory default settings.
If this doesn't work for you, please comment and let me know, and I will be happy to assist you to further resolve your issue.
I will appreciate your feedback and positive rating for this solution.
Thank you.

iPad wifi is "n" mode (faster) and this router is capable of both 10 Mb and 100 Mb (the latter, "g"mode). Have you already tried to configure it to work only in the "g" mode (and not in both modes as preconfigured).
Briefly, connect a cable from your PC to your router using one of the computer ports (not the cable modem port). Then, in your web browser, type the address http://192.168.0.1 (as you did), which should be the router address. You'll be prompted to enter the user (which is "admin"); leave the passed field blank (unless someone else have configured it differently). Now, run the wizard and you should be done. Additional configuration steps involve creation of WPA/WEP security in your WIFI network (usually, very relevant).
Okay my names shane and
If I understood it correctly, you need to broadcast your SSID from your router (alternatively, you want only to know your SSID; in both cases, go to your router configuration). There's an option to do that, simply go to the router address at http://192.168.0.1 from your computer. You'll be prompted to enter the user (which is "admin"); leave the passed field blank (unless someone else have configured it differently).
Hope it helps!
Does not work. yesterday
Try to connect directly with your cable modem to see if the internet signal is OK.
If yes, try to reconfigure the modem again. First of all, connect a cable from your PC to your router using one of the computer ports (not the cable modem port). Then, in your web browser, type the address http://192.168.0.1, which should be the router address. You'll be prompted to enter the user (which is "admin"); leave the passed field blank (unless someone else have configured it differently). Now, run the wizard and you should be done. Additional configuration steps involve creation of WPA/WEP security in your WIFI network (usually, very relevant).
Hope it helps!
I recently installed Magic Jack
In the router setup, have you tried to disable "turbo G" option and click on "channel auto select" option? If your hypothesis of interference is correct, this may allow the router to choose a channel with less interference.
Hope it helps!
My wireless internet was working
Are you trying to access the router with a cable connected to one of the computer ports (1-4)? Wfi may not work; neither the WAN port.
Briafly, connect a cable from your PC to your router using one of the computer ports (not the cable modem port). Then, in your web browser, type the address http://192.168.0.1 (as you did), which should be the router address. Need to update firmware but
Are you sure you need to update it? Latest version, to my knowledge, is 2.76.
Go to http://www.dlink.com/products/?tab=3&pid=DI-624&rev=DI-624 and then look for "support resources" and firmware.
Good luck!

No need to install software. Consider your router as another "computer" that opens the internet to your primary computer.
First of all, connect a cable from your PC to your router using one of the computer ports (not the cable modem port).
