Hello , I have a

Try a new LAN cable between devices. Hard reboot bother router and modem. The final solution is a factory reset of your router. You can do a factory reset by logging into the router using you browser. Go to the settings and perform a factory reset If you forgot the router password, you ill have to do a factory reset by locating a small hold on the back of the router and insert the tip of of paper clip for about 10 seconds while the power is on. The router will be reset to out of box status and then you can set-up form scratch.

I lost the admin password to my D-Link DIR 412 router. Is it possible to do a reset?

Yes apparently the DIR 412 comes with a reset button on the back which will restore it back to factory settings (the settings it came with originally) There's details on the reset procedure in the routers manual, if you haven't got one here's a link to an online manual for it: ftp://files.dlink.com.au/products/DIR-412/Manuals/DIR-412_A1_Manual_v1.10(I).pdf You'll want the troubleshooting section near the back of the manual.

D-link DIR-635 router

Hi, I am assuming that you can connect to your router's web based interface (192.168.0.1). On a PC LAN wired to the router, open a browser; Type "192.168.0.1"; Log-in username/admin and password/(blank); Go to Tools > Misc and the option to select the WAN speed (bottom); Lock the speed down on the WAN port of your router to 10Mbps (Some versions do not have this feature). Hope this works for you. If not pls post back with your modem brand/model. You may also want to log the IP settings (IP Add, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, DNS Servers) of the PC that is directly connected to the modem when you can access the Internet when not using the router. Good luck and kind regards.

How can i create a pasword for a DIR300

Connect a LAN cable from the D-Link to your laptop/computer's LAN port, open the browser on your laptop/computer and enter the D-Link's configuration URL.. http://192.168.0.1 The default login = admin The default PW = blank (just press Enter) You can now change the default admin password. You can now configure the wireless settings. (WPA or WPA2 encryption to protect your wireless network and Internet from unauthorized access). How do I intall the dlink router if I dont have a

hello, here is what you need to do: if have a pc connected to high speed modem directly you will unplug the network cable from the back of your pc/laptop and that end will then go in to "WAN" port on the new dlink router.
second, you take another wire and plug one end in your pc/laptop and the other end in one of the 4 lan ports in the back of your new dlink.
restart everything in the following order at 30 seconds duration:- first the cable/DSl modem, then dlink, then your pc/laptop.
once everything is up open up internet browser and test connectivity.
at this point you should have internet up and running but you need to configure you router and wireless etc.
from your browser in address bar type in http://192.168.0.1 and hit enter that will bring you router login prompt : default user name is "admin" and password is left blank and hit enter, you are now in router to configure options as you please.
I would strongly recommend changing your router password administration and if you plan on using wireless, setup SSID, encryption, network key on wireless. NEVER LEAVE IT OPEN.

Hope this helps
let me know if you have any questions

D-link dir-300 router always rebooting/restarting

This is the fix from d-link:
Router rebooting itself print.gif You may be experiencing trouble with a feature known as UPnP(TM). This feature allows Windows XP and Me machines to remotely open necessary ports for Internet Applications. You may try disabling UPnP (on the router AS WELL AS your computers) to see if this cures your reset woes. Log into the web-based configuration, access the Tools page, then the Misc. button. Choose the disabled button next to UPnP. Click Apply. You should no longer experience the frequent resets.Try disabling in XP first to see if that fixes issue.

To manually disable UPnP/SSDP in Windows 2000/XP/Vista:
  • Go to Start Menu-->Run...
  • Type "services.msc" and click OK
  • Find the service named "Universal Plug and Play Device Host" service
  • Click the Stop button to stop the service
  • Under Startup type, select Disabled from the pull-down menu and click OK
  • Find the service named "SSDP Discovery Service" and double-click
  • Click the Stop button to stop the service
  • Under Startup type, select Disabled from the pull-down menu and click OK
