I have same problem and can't find solution. Site recomended not working. Printer allways offline. Firmware and other soft not healing. :(. Anyone help us.

dont' worry about what the d-link site says. its because they haven't tested it. i got my dp-301u to work fine with my hp1020 on 2 different workstations with the following steps.

1. install printer locally via usb and test.
2. create a second printer as per the dlink manual creating a port. don't worry about the name as we will delete it.
3. once created go into the properties of the 2nd printer and change the port to something local - anything will do to free up the port.
4. go into the properties of the printer that was created in step 1. and change the port to that of the print server.
5. test print. should work fine.

Did you try using LPR mode instead? I find it works more relyable with any print server. SMB (windows network mode) is ****. I have had simalar problems with another printserver.

As shown here on the Dlink website, there is no support for either Vista 32bit or 64 bit

try to do a normal install first. once that works you'll be able to use the driver that is installed to install via the print server.

I'm not able to install the printer driver Officejet 5610 when conenct to D-Link DP 301U. It always prompt for missing file such as hpzimc09.dll hpzstw09.exe, I'm using the CD proviede when I purchase the printer and also try on the installtion file downlaod from HP website.

dp-301u gets 2 ip addresses...on its own!!!

Try changing the driver for your HP LJP3005 on your XP machine. Use it with the HP LJ Series II driver.

There should be a pinhole that allows you to do it with a paper clip...

I am sure it is now toast and you cannot downgrade if the wrong firmware has been installed. I would ask D-Link.

try changing the channel number from auto to a channel number 2 or 3 higher than the lowest channel number.' do this by logging into the d-link dsl 2640

the manual is free , at dlink dot com you push the reset button for long time per manual 15sec (iirc) the release it and now all defaults are set. per the manual, google dir-655 manual. easy as pie if you just read the manual.
