I get and F61 error message on my panasonic

How does it manage without speakers?

F61 usually means the amp has detected a short or a severe microprocessor error.

Generally speaking, an amp protects itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Unable to get home theater sound on cable tv mode

I had this problem on my own tv and it nearly drove me mad, in tv menu under sound submenu their is a setting called spdif mode, there are choices in this mode that can be made, My current tv has Auto, off and pcm. some tv's have more choices. Try playing with these settings and its possible you can get it to work with cable, your cable signal probably uses a different sound format to the blueray/dvd player. note if this works the sound might not work when you go back to blueray/dvd player so note the setting before you change it in case you need to go back to it when you change over viewing choices. good luck.

Extension speaker wire

Radio Shack is you're best bet. They have several different types of speaker wire. That is where I get most of my audio and video supplies.

When playing cd's the player skips and then stops when the second part of the disc is reached?

If the CD plays correctly in some other player (or in the CD-player in your vehicle), then your Panasonic CD-player is the cause of the problem. If under warranty, get it replaced. If not under warranty, purchase a replacement.

Instalation

You need to check the back of your home theater for an input jack (it could be labeled tv in or aux in). Then check your tv for audio out jacks. Use a quality rca patch cable from the tv to the home theater. The tv may need to be switched from variable to fixed audio out on the audio menu of the tv. If it is an older or inexpensive tv in may not have the output capabilities.

Wireless speakers

You should have two pieces for your wireless rear speakers setup. A. a wireless card inserted behind the all in one receiver. B. the receiving box that will connect to the 2 rear speakers. Also, you should not have any obstacles to block off the line of site for the rear speaker receiving box to the wireless card.
Best way to test it is too simply leave the rear speakers connected to the rear speakers receiving box on the floor near the a/v receiver with dvd player built in.Play a dvd and see if you have sound coming out from the rear.
