DVD HO1 error, and tray is jammed - how do i change the mode to External Port (iPod)?

It means that there's a misaligned disk inside. You need to

1. Unplug it and shake it side-to-side.
2. Then turn it on and press the open/close.
3. If it doesn't open, goto step 1.
4. When it opens, get the disks out, use disk exchange to try to get them all out.
5. Turn it off, unplug it, shake it again and make sure that there isn't another loose disk, if there is, then open it and get it out.

This is a known flaw in certain Panasonic DVD changers. Good luck

F61 error code

Sorry to hear about your error code F61

This code refers to a High Limit Temp. condition.
This is most likely caused by the cooling fan.
If the Fan has stopped running or not running at full speed, you will recv. this error message and the temp. reaches high-end limit.
Please check the cooling fan, any possible air flow restrictions and correct running RPM.

Hope this information has helped you.
Readers, please rate your technicians information.

Tray stuck in out position and husing as Audio amplifier

If your system has an Aux input on the back then you can use it as an amplifier, and use the speakers you already have. I hope this gives you some ideas.

F61 error

F61 usually means the amp has detected a short or a severe microprocessor error.

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Check for loose speaker connections at the speaker as another possible root cause for intermittent shutdown.

System won't turn on

F61 is amp error,on these unit the fan must turn when first turned on,see if fan turns when powering up,if not clean fan or spin with hand on start up.if fan turns when first turned on,you have a defective output ic,common on these units.if you have a volt/ohm meter measure the dc voltage across each pair of speaker jacks,if you get anything higher then a few volts, that channel will be bad. However The fans are the most trouble on theses units.

What does F61 code on my display screen mean?

Hello

Ok, yes, this is a overheating error, but it doen not necessarilly mean that the fan is broken though.
The fan might just be covered in dudst particles, which enables the fan to spin at full speed to enable sufficient cooling.

Just open up the unit, see if the fans actually spin, if they spin, then just clean out the unit of all dust particles, if they are ot spinning at all, just buy 2 new fans, it is cheap.

If the unit is still under warrenty, just send it back, they will repair it for free.

Hope this can steer you in the right direction.

Kind regards
Andrea

F61 code after a speaker wire touched the chassis and sparked

You have shorted the speaker wores and blown the output amp pac. Depending upon the model, the replacement part varies from $75-$95.I don't have a listing for the SC-HT740, but the cost range should be accurate.

SA-HT740 Broken gear

You probably can get the parts from Tritronics, but as far as I know, there aren't hard-copy manuals normally made for any of the newer products. The only paper available nowadays are the users manuals... The service manuals are on-line at Panasonic and available only to authorized repair centers. Sorry.

I'm curious - how in the heck did a gear break in the thing??? There's nothing strong enough in the drive system to do that (either the motors would sieze or belts slip).

SA-HT670 please wait problem

I've got the same problem. The Changer block or traverse mechanism is a big cog work. One thing changed and its toast (I THINK) The white nylon gears are set and they are dependent on some cue to be moved. The left side of the block can pop off after the white top is removed, The side goes in and out to change ... plastic tabs. I'm pulling my hair out.

I've autopsied one after I bought another. The new one did the same as the old one right off telling me it looks like the issue is in the control, possibly the disk reader mechanism, or a glitch in the communication with the main board its tethered to with the ribon cables.

I'm searching for a reset hack/trick/ whatever, to reset it to factory. The problem is a glitch in the software, I Think.

Anyone have a clue on this?
