Danby DPAC8020 Air Conditioner - Page 5 Questions & Answers
Redlight wont turn off
Good day. Try unplugging the unit for about an half an hour to reset. The other option is to open th unit and look for any fuses that might have popped, or a reset switch. Only attempt this if you feel confident enough to do so. Theonly othe option is to take it to a specialist in your area.
My Danby 12000 is not
Hello,
The first and easiest thing is to check the air filter. Make sure
that it is clean... clean it or replace it. Next check the air vents to
make sure that they are open and giving you good air flow...
Also
check to make sure that you are not icing up on the indoor coil... ice
will tell you that you are low on refrigerant. You also could be low and
not be icing over, but you would need to have gauges on the unit to
check that.
Finally check and clean the outdoor coil...this also can
give you problems if the heat is not being removed from the outdoor
unit efficiently.
12000 BTU A/C will cool a maximum of about 500 square feet. I don't
know how big your place is, but if it's larger than that, the A/C can
run 24/7 and never cool the place down in the summer.
By the way, cool air falls, hot air rises. If your A/C is upstairs and
you don't block off the stairwell or shut the door, all of that cool air
will just flow downstairs. I would suggest window units on both floors
and keep a door shut in between floors.
Take care.
I have a DPAC 10030 which is pumping out cold air
Yes, I would check the flow of water to the reservoirs and clean the machine of any blockages in the water tubing or routes.
I searched for dpac8020 and dpac 10030 but did not find it on the U.S.A. Danby site. Is this unit located in the U.S. or abroad?
Everstar portable AC not cooling, what do I do?
Same thing happened a few weeks ago. My wife said " its not cooling". I read the manual and it says., Clean filters ...we did and hello. works fine. She was so frustrated she was going to take it back. These filters accummulate dust fast. So check there first. Hope this helps.
I would lkike to know where to get replacement filters or an extension exhaust duct.
My unit keeps showing me
hello,
what this mean is an error code indicating that there is some water in the system sensing error from the lens reader indicating code P2
what you will have to do fix up this problem is to open (unscrew) the unit from the strol then clean up all forms of water around the panel and the wire carefully do this then couple it back with care the problem of P2 will be solve .
thnak you and thanks for using fixya.
Motor or capacitor problem
i would test the cap it needs to be tested in uF or just replace the cap it is the cheapest option for you if you cant test it. over time the motors bearings wear out and the stater gets to close to the magnets also causing the same issue hope this helps. and by the way a 5uf 440 vac cap is like 12 dollars
Having problems its not getting cold enough!!
I don't know that you'll like the answer, but from the very little bit you mentioned it sounds like it would be cheaper to replace it than have it fixed. Although there are other potential issues (like an electronic part, which would still be a good percentage of the $300-400 cost of a new unit), you could be low on refrigerant. Two problems there: 1) the refrigerant isn't cheap, though the service call would probably cost more) and 2) the refrigerant leaked out somehow, wo that leak would have to be fixed too.
I start thinking about a new unit.
Can u plz tell me what wrong with my air
Mary it sounds like you just need to take another look at the drain hose and where it connects in the unit. Also make sure the hose isn't kinked or stopped up. If there is a pan inside that catches water make sure the hose is lower than the pan. Hope this helps.
Compressor comes on but air is not cold
if the compressor is running and the air is cold - then the two likely causes are low/out of refrigerant or the valves are out on the compressor.
In either case you'll need a service tech to look at it.
good luck!
What are the two water plugs for
If the plugs are one on top of the other, with one being at a higher level than the other - then it (the higher one) is just a safety drain in case the lower drain stops up for some reason.
Some times mfc's will install two drains to give you a choice, but if that's the case (and I don't think it is) the drains would be at the same level.
