Model KCMS1555R KitchenAid Microwave Oven turntable

This is an extremely dangerous situation, if the microwave oven is running with the door open it means the safety interlock switches are not working the way they were designed to, and needs to be checked out for safety reasons. I recommend unplugging the device and not use it until it has been checked by a qualified technician.

Door won't open; have already checked lock and it

Door catches.

One of the latches may be damaged or misaligned and is not lifting the other latch clear of the housing. Remove from any power source, remove the cover of the cabinet. Slacken off the clamp mechanism and ease the clamp over the guide to allow the door to open. When a new door lever is in place, the door may be easily adjusted by slackening off the screws that clamp the door catch/actuators in place whilst holding the door closed and then tightening the screws. The rear of the door may be adjusted by slackening the lower door hinge screws and adjusting as required.
I hope that helps.

Inside white enamel is flaking

The area will first have to be sanded smooth and cleaned and dried thoroughly.

Then you can apply some high-temperature appliance paint, available from places like Wal-Mart, Lowe's or Builder's Square.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

KitchenAid KCMS1555RSS stopped heating. Everthing

If it is making a loud noise, check the diode and magnetron for damage.
BEWARE OF LETHAL VOLTAGES!
The fault may be just the diode and a reasonable cost will be involved. If it is the magnetron, depending upon where you purchase one from will command the price.
Hope that helps.

Microwave does not run though it has electricity.

When you say there is electricity, I take this to mean that your display, buttons, and countdown timer are all functioning normally, but when you press start no light, fan, turntable, or heating response occurs?

Normally the only thing that clicks on a microwave is the relay. If it is repeatedly clicking and nothing is happen, it could indicated that it has failed.

Repairing this will require some replacement parts (probably between 5 and $50) and whatever labour costs (if you do have it serviced, the shop should give you this estimate up front).

Remember, while you can do some repairs on your microwave, what you don't know can kill you... even on an unplugged microwave, so make sure you understand the dangers and how to reduce them before you try anything inside a microwave. If you want to do more yourself, let me know and I will point you in the direction of some good resources.

F2 E0

F2-E0 - Shorted Touch Pad (Keypad) - Check the connection between the touch pad (keypad) and control board (clock) to make sure it is secure.
Select the 'cancel' function and wait 60 seconds.
If error code reappears then replace the touch pad, or touch pad and control board (clock) if all one assembly.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question!^!^

Microwave is dead. Does it

The magnetron (the part that heats the food) may be bad or the circuitry to the magnetron may have burned out. Basically my advice is that if you have no electrical expertise, it isn't worth fixing. The magnetron if bad, costs almost as much as a new microwave. If you open it up (make sure it has been unplugged for a few hours and don't seen any obvious burnt parts (including a fuse and the diodes), then most likely the magnetron is done and a new microwave is the way to go.

Let me know how this works out for you.

My light in the microwave has gone out. Is there

Bulb replacement was designed into the appliance, meaning that; Yes, you can replace it and it's rather simple.
First, UNPLUG the appliance! You're working with the door open, so the bulb socket is hot (charged) even though the bulb is dead.

For the overhead light, the bulb is located behind a plastic splatter-shield that clips in place...Press the clips in to remove the shield, and un-screw the bulb (lefty-loosey).
For a sidewall bulb, there are the same clips holding it in place, but they are recessed and you may need a butterknife or to pop them out: UNPLUGGED, RIGHT?

What matters most are 2 specific shopping details; Wattage and base size (width)...The first detail is stamped/printed on the original bulb, and base width (not diameter) is easy to determine by laying the old bulb on a ruler.
Overall bulb size doesn't vary much, and is easy to match at the supplier.
Which was the other part of your question: Where to buy.

Most Walmarts carry a small selection of appliance2_bing.gif bulbs, and your local Lowes or HomeDepot have a few more to choose from...You will need those 2 shopping details to zero-in on the replacement, then verify that the overall size of the glass is the same or smaller.
(A bit smaller is OK, provided the wattage and base-size are the same...but too wide or too tall, and you can't get the cover back on.)
Best Buy can order the bulbs for you if their service dept doesn't have it in stock, and Sears offers the same service.

When all else fails; Hit the Yellowpages under "appliance parts" for a local parts shop...The bulbs are for the most part fairly generic, and any decent parts shop will have a few in stock.

Hi, my microwave is not heating and i cannot hear

I would have started with the diode and capacitor (i.e the least expense) but you can check the diode by removing the input wire and doing a continuity check in BOTH directions. In other words check it then reverse the leads and check it again. It should only read in ONE direction. If it reads continuity in both directions or is open in both directions it is bad and must be replaced. If the diode check out fine then by all means check the capacitor. Just respect the fact it is a large capacitor and can really ruin your day if it is good and has a full charge. (Been there done that!) Take a screwdriver and ground across the terminals several times then note the position of the wires on the capacitor and remove the wires from ONE terminal set. Take your meter still on Ohms ( old simpson type dial meter for this test) and place it on the capacitors 2 terminals. Then rapidly reverse the leads and you should see a momentary jump on the meter then fall off. No jump when you repeatedly reverse the leads then the capacitor is bad. This should solve your problem unless there is a relay on the control board that controls the magnetron power.
