Hello,The only other place that I know of is eBay. Dell is very slow getting a replacement to you and eBay has increase its standards to prevent fraud and misrepresentation. I would check there. If you see one you like, you can email the seller if you have any questions. Good LuckC2Solutions

URGENT. Dell Poweredge 2850 Mirror

If you know the two drive that are the OS mirrored drive, remove the failed drive and replace it with the good mirror drive and boot the system. If the drive and the OS is good the system will boot from that drive. You can now mirror this drive with a good disk.

No power on my PowerEdge 1800 Server

dells power supplies must come from dell. I would call dell and give then the service tag number of your server and they will be able to tell you about how much a power supply is.

I have a Dell's PowerEdge

The fan bearings are worn, it is best to replace them.
As a temporary measure you can insert a small drop of oil on the bearing, the bearing can be accessed by carefully lifting the label in the center of the fan.

Poweredge 1800 server

Hey,

I looked over the spesifications for the poweredge 1800 servers, go ahead, it will work perfectly but there is one problem in the windows XP setup, you will need to insert / load SCSI or SATA drivers for the hard drive With a floppy disk, or if you don't have a floppy drive your going to need to create a custom windows xp setup cd and add the drivers into it so it can start the SCSI or SATA hard drive and finish the install. without the drivers it might not find the hard drive.

Aside from that I don't see any other problems. You should be able to get the drivers, and everything ese from dell site
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/

Actually I looked over the dell downloads, I see only windows 2000 on the list with windows server 2003, and 2008 and linux distributions.

This could be a 2nd problem, drivers might not be avaialble, or work with xp, but we might be able to get it to work.

So two problems, SCSI or SATA drivers in windows xp / windows 2000 setup

2nd problem is in windows xp drivers, you could try windows 2003's drivers and 2000's and see if they work, if not, then we would have to look for drivers ourselfs from the internet.

So xp might cause headache but we might get it working, windows 2000 seems to be supported perfectly.

Let me know how the project goes
Thanks,
Ekse

I have seen similar questions asked but I

Hello,
The server is designed for linux SusE and Windows Server 2003+. You may be able to get windows XP working on it but you will not be able to install it until you find the scsi disk controller driver for XP or whatever type of controller your unit can installed with RAID etc... Also, some devices may not work as they weren't designed for XP. You can buy windows server 2003 off of ebay for a lot cheaper then you would if you did from a retail PC store, if that is an option for you.
Can I ask what game it is? I may be able to help you setup the game server on linux, but I recommend using SuSe as that is what Dell supports for this unit and the drivers can be obtained from http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?os=LINX&catid=-1&dateid=-1&impid=-1&osl=EN&typeid=-1&formatid=-1&servicetag=&SystemID=PWE_1800&hidos=WNET&hidlang=en&TabIndex=&scanSupported=False&scanConsent=False

PXE Error:E61 Check Media cable PC is not booting.

The error PXE-E61: Media test failure usually means the hard diskhas failed or the hard disk needs re-seating or the disk controller is faulty. First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If this does not work then reboot and go to theBIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn'tdetect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Next - to determine if thehard drive is faulty, remove the hard drive and insert it into an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a workingcomputer's USB port. If this computer cannot see itas an external hard drive and you cannot open the various folders and files, this confirms the hard drive is faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.

Hi, try to renew the drivers and firmware from here:

Continuous beep related to ram ,try to remove ram and insert it, and if u still get beep change your ram.

Continious beeb sound is ram or cpu failure. Is the cpu fan spinning ??
If not the cpu is over heating.
Try to remove the ram modules and clean the contact points
with a piece of paper. Be very carefull when you do that !!!!!
And blow the dust out of your server, with a high pressure can.

Hope this was helpfull.

How do i enter in

Hi,
If the server is running Windows, you can usually enter safe mode by repeatedly pressing F8 after you press the power switch.
You can also get into the dell utility, which lets you run memory and system tests. To access this, follow the on screen directions during boot up.
