That is caused by no flag return from the video processor.
Try unplugging from the mains, waiting for 5 minutes and trying again. It may be just confused, (as computers do get confused and nowadays most things are CPU driven). If that has no luck then you will possibly be looking for a power supply fault/open circuit fuseable link.

1.The red light that you mentioned - is it a power light or stand by light ?

2. Is there any sequence of blinks or is continuously lit?

Possibly you have the audio on set of inputs and the video on another. Make sure both audio and video are on the same input.

The best that can be done by you:
1. check the battery , replace if bad, check the battery terminal too, if bad clean.
2. Remove the covers, use a good soldering iron to solder the crystal and the processor in the board, use a thin needle to clean the pins after soldering to ensure that there is no bridging in the circuit.
3.use a dry wipe to clean the surface of the board. check if the IR Leds are working or out of circit, if so replace.
4. The transistors switching the IR should be checked.
5. If carbon pads are bad replace with spare dots available or use a carbon pen to line.
use a multimeter to check if the IR works ,if not the IC can be faulty
If none of the top works youmight have to cchange the IC .

Hey djames1971 - did you ever get this resolved? My Philips is doing the same exact thing now; sooooo annoying. If I keep monkeying with the exit setting it eventually goes to the TV and stays there, but it doesn't fix it by any means. Next time I go to turn it on I have the same battle with it.

well it starte with cold soderl jiont but now you may have power supply pormblems

Power supply is dead.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

U have a digital antena?Or a roof atena?Have one of these.U well increase ur arial ranges to recieve free air DTV signal much stronger and farter ranges.

You have not mentioned which part of the screen is the scratch?? Anyway please note that you can not apply a chemical on the scratch. Just leave it and clean it with a slightly damp cloth as long as it does not affect the viewing of the picture on the screen.

I`m going to help you with your tv but first;
Are you connected to a home theater/receiver or are you using the tv speakers?

Here are things to check.

1. possiable bad power supply or a bad componet on th power supple "capacitors" or what have you.

Now if your good at repairing monitors you can pop this bad boy open and check for any swollen capacitors you will need some soldering skill.

2. Replace power suppply

Ether way here this will need repair, I am not there locally looking at the set so I am going by what you tell me and the most common issues with these sets. When in doubt here bring it to a local shop.

It needs a new Power Supply

how many times does it blink red. the will help determine whats wrong. Most lightly its going to give you 6 or 7 blinks whick points to the power supply this is sometimes a false indication to the ssb/signal board being bad. you coulb try the parts or have a tech come out and verify which is the problem.

Buy a HDMI cable.Hook up one side of the HDMI cable to ur tv HDMI Hub.The other side of the HDMI cable to ur laptop USB Hub.That it u got a connnection,now go in ur tv input pick which HDMI inputs,u put it in,example 1 to 4 HDMI Hubs.Pick the one HDMI Hub that ur laptop it hook up in.That it now u got ur LCD tv used as a monitor.

Hi.

To start you can simply turning the TV off, disconnecting power cable and connected devices. Then restart first the receiver or DVD or whatever device you want to tune in as source, then restart the TV. This will reset the set. If the source you use is the internal tuner, then do not connect any device before starting tv.

If that does not work, then try using the buttons on the TV panel. Using the Menu button you should be able to select the TV source.
If the menu, and volume button (on the panel on TV do not respond, then the problem is not the remote, but the TV is frozen because of a different fault.

If the problem is that remotes are not working, the first method should fix the input selection. If the TV does not recognize the remote signal, then the IR sensor inside the TV must be replaced.

Here a replacement IR sensor: PHILIPS 313926802521 LED IR ASSY.


IR sensor replacement must be done by a technician.


If the TV is faulty, then the first thing to do is calling Philips support.

My advise, If it ain't broke don't fix it. meaning many many times people do this, they end up "Bricking" the set. Unless you have a need or are missing a function,that any upgrade addresses, it is my professional opinion, that you simply leave it alone. Unless you have to do this, or it promises great improvements, don't.
