Sony SLV-D370P DVD Player/VCR Questions & Answers
Picture black and white no sound
Sounds like your in a progressive scan mode. There may be a single button on the unit or the remote that turns the output to progressive. Try changing that and your color should come back. Hope this helps.

You`ll find the error codes in the service manual, But I don`t think this will help you, it sounds like you have a compatability problem. Are you not better connecting your turntable up to your PC?? You can purchase these really cheaply out of ASDA and other good retailers now which will plug directly into the USB port. You`ll have no problems then, I promise, I`ve done it. Ian
Has it actually wrote to the disc and have you finalized the disc?? Does the disc look like it`s been wrote to, you can usually see the recorded section of the disc but if it`s not been finalized, It`ll never play on a normal CD player. A CD player requires the TOC (Table Of Contents) in the centre of the disc, if this is missing, the CD will just give up and say disc error or something similar. Ian
hope this helps,thank you
Sony vhs will not record
hello
does it not record from dvd? did you check from external source to record? is the vhs tape you insert for recording record protected (small plastic lid broke out to prevent recording)?
Dvd slot will not open
L1 is not an error code, in fact it is Line-1 that is set when combo selected VCR mode.
Set combo on DVD mode by setting its input button on remote or unit front to get dvd tray eject
Dvd stops, picture becomes pixilated, starts,
This happens when the DVD has scratches on its surface or the reading lens inside the player is dirty. There are other causes also.
First you should try a new DVD; if it plays well then the player is good. You can try washing you old DVD with soap and water. Rub it dry gently with a towel (not with a tissue paper).
If this happens with all the DVDs then try a lens cleaning CD. Its a regular music CD with a small brush on it and is available in most video and computer stores.
If the problem is not solved, then it is likely that the servomechanism is the culprit. It could be the motor or dust or the controller. This should be checked by a service technician.
