Your power saving settings might be configured to disable WiFi if the laptop is not plugged in . The power settings will be in the screens saver section, and in the control panel under Power Options (or just search for Power Options). Look at the settings for your power plan and tell it not to disable WiFi when not plugged in.

K, It is possible the flex connecting the screen is bad, needs to be changed. or the screen itself is bad.

A good place to start would be to take the battery out and disconnect the ac charger. Hold down the power button for 10 seconds. Replace the battery and/or ac charger, press the power button. Also see if your ac charger has a light on it to indicate power. Take note if anything lights on on the laptop and/or hear any fans spinning. That will help you jump to the next troubleshooting step.

Hi The normal key combo to rotate the screen is CTRL+ALT or Shift + ALT and the up and down cursor keys also if you video card has an icon in the control panel this will have a way to rotate your screen with the mouse Cliff Cook MCP

It could be because your hard drive is failing. Try booting from a bootable CD. if it gets past the dell splash screen it's got to be the hard drive.

If you are using Internet Explorer click on Tools click on INTERNET OPTIONS click on SECURITY set to DEFAULT click on CERTIFICATES see if there is anything in there that should not be. Good Luck Joe

Hi, Going by your post it looks like you require the BIOS password. Let me know if the password prompt appears before or after windows boot. try to disable all firewalls

connect a usb mouse to it then go to the dell's support page and install the correct driver

open control panel then go into language then hit add language. the icon has the world on it and random symbols.

there's not much you can do about it but here's ways to remember 1) use the forgot password Icon 2) you can try to load a Linux on then get all your files out of the HDD then reinstall windows XP. if you really cant remember your password then do number 2 and for a Linux I would use Zorin OS works just like windows 7 but with Linux capability's.
