If you have a boot disk, try booting from the disk. It could be a hard drive issue or even a motherboard issue
Wireless not working on Dell
it might be diasbled. try windows key + "x", if this doesn't work when you turn it on there, try going to network connections and enable the wireless. Go to control panel, select network and sharing, change adapter settings, you'd have something like wireless network connection, right click and click enable if its disabled.
One side of my screen
If you replaced the video card, then it's likely the display or a ribbon connecting the motherboard to the display.
My d610 shows "media test failure, check cable" -
That message usually appears when the hard drive has crashed or if you're lucky you've got a cdrom or dvd in the computer and the boot order is messed up. 9 out of 10 though it means the hard drive has crashed though :(

Get the cd that came with your computer. Put the cd in next time you see the message and next time it powers back on you will have the set up options, follow the prompts to repair or re-install windows it may take a while. Everything will be fine.

The best recommendation I can make would be to install VLC (VideoLAN.) It is the best free media player software, and it will allow you to open DVDs

Welcome to Fixya. You can drain the power of the laptop by removing the battery then put it back in after 2 minutes. Just to check if it will be one. However if the problem is still there then this is not a quick fix the problem here is that the LCD or the Display is bad. If the refurbished laptop still have warranty on the store you purchase it you can ask them to replace it or replace the LCD if not then most likely you need to bring the machine to a local tech or center for repair.

When I start up my
Pressand hold the key while powering the system on. This will run theDell Diagnostics. Another more intense diagnostic program is located on a DellCD that you should have received with your laptop. Look for one that has "Diagnostics and utilities" listed underthe "Contents". You will have to boot from that CD disk. To do this, power onyour laptop and tap the key to bring you to the "One time bootmenu". Insert the CD and then select CD/DVD drive and hit key. Select the "Run the 32 Bit DellDiagnostics". If the laptop runs the diagnostics without errors then you have a software issue. If it is a hardware issue (i.e. memory,hard drive) diagnostics will indicate faulty component.
