With a voltmeter, verify that you are getting 12V at the plug end of the power cable. If so, check the fuses (there should be one or two fuse holders on the back). If all of that fails you will need to send it in to Furuno for repair.

Cek wiring to scanner, change reedswice sensor /heading sensor. If the problem not solve, change the display with the new one.

Trace power wire from unit to find in-line fuse. check fuse. If OK continue to battery or power panel using 12 v dc meter. must have long ground wire to battery ground(-) to meter(-)

The messages “NO HEADING PULSE” and “NO BEARING PULSE” means that the display is not communicating with the scanner (antenna). Both of these signals are generated in the scanner if you get this error check that the antenna cable is firmly connected and that the contacts are clean and corrosion free.

If the connection at the display looks good and feels like it’s properly connected, check the cable for any damage If you find damage you could try to repair the wires BUT (because of corrosion and moisture problems) IT IS STRONGLY REMENDED that the cable be replaced, but it’s kind of expensive $275.00.

I don't beleive this is goning to fix your problem. Open the dome and visually check that it is spinning. There is a maintenance menu though. To open the maintenance menu;
1. Turn the radar on.
2. Wait until the initial screen appears, then press and hold UP and DOWN keys together.
3. In about 10 seconds, the maintenance menu as shown below will appear.
4. Press MENU key to close the menu.

The life span of the radar depends on its use.There are consumables inside, mainly the Magnetron and the scanner motor assembly, the life of which depend on running hours. The life of Display is high compared to these two. The TR cell is located in the wave path before the receiver(detector/MIC)Most Radars have a menu function for 'Test".

By 'reset' I guess you want to clear the contents.This is how you do.Turn on while pressing [menu/escape].You get installation menu.Move down to 'memory clear' and press [right arrow]Select 'yes' to clear.Memory will be cleared when switched on next time.Hope this helps.

i have a furuno 1700 radar ,when i switch it on it goes to stand by ,when i press the standby button you can see it scanning but no land appears cheers alan

I know this question is very basic, but did you check your gain and clutter settings? That echoes show in short range, disappear, reappear, and are not consistent on long range sounds normal to me. Auto settings sometimes also can get a bit mad, then manula settings makes sense.

Did you run the unit and scanner test?

unplug the radar from it and turn on the display. If that does not blow the fuse, then your problem is either in the cable to the antenna or the antenna itself. Start there.
