Some refrigerators are designed to cycle through the settings. If you continue to press the down switch it may cause the numbers to reach the bottom set number then go back to the highest number and start the cycle over. If so then all you will need to do is continue to press it until it gets to the desired number. That is how LG and Kenmore work at least on the models I have worked with..

Water dispenser stopped working

check to ensure the valve to the water supply is fully open, if so you may have a restriction (plugged) line or valve, this could be due to minerals or biological growth. if possible roll the fridge from it's location to access the rear where the water supply is connected, turn the brass fitting left to loosen to see if water begins to seep out, this confirms a water supply is available and the issue is likely a solenoid valve. My hunch is being neither are working at the same time the water supply is not available.

How to clear out the drain tube on a kitcheaid refrigerator

Freezer has been leaking water at the bottom. I opened the drawer/door and removed the bins, there was a small amount of ice formed on the bottom at the back, I broke it away and poured a small bit of warm water in the black drain hole. the next day the bottom and rear are full of frozen ice and it is difficult to open the drawer/door to the freezer. Everything is covered with frost. Help!

Knocking/banging sound on compressor start up

I have a GE ZIS480D - side by side with compressor on top. It had an even tempo knockng sound coming from comprssor area. I asked my repair guy (at his shop) wat it could be. He shruggs and says "dont know, I'll have to come out and see it for $65." Just give me an idea of what it might be. He says "could be the timer or the motor knocking on something. I'll have to come out and take a look".. I'm a very highend custom homebuilder and have built hundreds of homes with every possible issue imaginable. When a repair guy says "dont know need to see it" it means I have no idea but by the time I leae your house I'll come up wih something. When something doesn't make mechanical sense I just pound on it or give it a good smack. I do it with my truck, my computer, my doors that stick and even sometimes my wife (kidding about the wife, she'd take me out in a heartbeat. Anway, I got up in the compressor ares and smacked it a couple times from every direction and sure enough it stopped knocking. I have been called a genius before but all I do is force into submission and it works. A good smack with the palm of your hand will not hurt the unit. Give it a shot

My KitchenAid KBFA25ER Bottom Freezer French Door Refrigerator freezer is leaking water

just had mine repaired it is a duct bill grommet that is clogged. Found out it is common and easy to repair. My part was w10309238. Took the repair man less than 5 min. You need to pull the frig out, unplug take off the bottom pannel mine was bottom right. A small socket screwdriver is key, look for a funnel running top to bottom, in side there is the duct bill nipple that is clogged with debrie or stuck with stickly stuff like juice. Remove and replace then seal up and defrost for 24 hours by opening the freezer door.

Have changed water filter, but indicatot panel calls for order h2o filter, and comes on every time we dispence water. why?

Most models also have a filter indicator reset button located in the same area. After changing the filter, reset the filter status light by pressing the Filter Indicator Reset button or by pressing and holding the Filter button for 3 seconds. The status light will change from red to green or the status display will change from "Replace" to "Good" when the system is reset.

If your model has a water filter indicator, but no reset button, press the light switch in the refrigerator compartment 5 times within 10 seconds to reset the system. The status light will change from red to green when the system is reset.

Fridge not cooling

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.
First I would check cold control. Thats where you turn it off, if your temp is not warm. it can
be defective and not shutting off. If your temp is warm proceed with the following.
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if FREEZER CONTROL is turned WARMER WHICH MAKES THE REF COLDER AND VICE-VERSA. SEE?
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
But is probably a common defrost problem The ice build up
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
Make sure back cover is on the fridge. Some take them off and throw them away.
make one out of cardboard if its gone, using the holes of the old one.

The cold control needs replacing. Thats the knob with the numbers that turn the Ref OFF and ON.
What I do is call my local Appliance Parts Store with my model no. They are extremely helpful .
Get freezer and ref thermometer. Ref is probably too cold.
Freezer should be 0 to 10 degrees. Ref 33 to 35
