well fist the size that it is says is creating the error is interesting. My guess is that the fault is because the picture you are trying to access is actually a GIF. If this is the case many camera software and even some of the graphic software will not read it. Try opening that picture in internet explorer and see what happens. To remove the fault what i would do is erase the picture or move it to another part of your hard drive. That way when you start the camera it will not be looking for that picture but another JPEG.

What does work is this-
Superglue the cracked lid as you WILL have one of these if you are reading this post- dont rush, I did about 10 glue applications over a few days to let it set correctly.
Next remove the offending hinges. You will see to spring/pressed steel curves in the body of the hinge, Next hack saw one (the outer is easier to get to) of these off, this frees the hinge up very well. Worked for me so give it a try

You will have to disconnect and reconnect the video signal plug located under the upper cover (the one with the power button on it). Best you start with a screwdriver in the very corner).

Additionally I removed a small magnet located under the lid cover (remove 6 screws under rubber placers and lift the lid), which I found next to the video cabling. This could have affected the video signal negatively. Lets see how long this fix lasts.....

I found a place to record video in Microsoft Office OneNote. There is a tab in the toolbar that is a very small icon for a video camera right after the "clip" tab. I randomly found it one night.

There should be a program in the start/programs menu called acer crystaleye, the software to take pictures with the webcam is in there. (if you are running vista that came with the laptop).

if your laptop camera is not working get an usb camera install the program dont plug the usb camera just open the program it will work with you laptop camera you can keep the usb camera for something else i did to my HP laptop it work perfect

You don't have a web-cam on your Acer Aspire 5532. Sorry, I actually bought a brand new Acer Aspire 5532 with Windows 7. It's really nice but that little black circle at the top of your screen is not a camera. I do believe you can have one installed though.

make sure first there is webcame driver is installed in system. You can choose the option of Scanners and Cameras wizard in control panel. there you will see the camera just click it will on then you will be able to shoot the picture and video.
