use device manager and check if the camera is installed and enabled. if not then you should enable the device

I have the same laptop, and i got the same problem with the camera, but see what i found. The built-in camera is located in the same piece of plastic that camera does. Then, if you open/close the laptop so many times, this seems to damage the camera connection and is like it doesnt have any camera. So when i want to use the camera, i simply push with my thumb around the camera, and run the program/chat or anything that i will use the camera. Of course, you first look at the drivers, if correct , then try the other solution i post. And theres no built in microfone. Hope it solve it.

The webcam on any notebook is designed for use near the camera and not from a distance.
The webcam will not be able to record and details like words written on a whiteboard or chalkboard in a way that it will be visible when playing back. Additionally, the microphone will not be able to capture the spoken words very well if the lecture hall if large.
You would be better off borrowing or buying a camcorder that has a zoom lens and shotgun mic and a tripod and recording the lecture that way.

i guess you have a inbuilt wecam...
if using Windows....
go to control panel
look for imaging devices....
if your webcam is listed
activate it...

Try toggling your external display option with Fn+F5. You have to hold down the Fn button on the keyboard while you press F5.

please install the driver again

Normally when restoring, if there is a problem an error code apears.
Try again and make sure the restore disc is OK and not scratched.

is it a power on password or a hdd password...and what operating system are you using..

The Acer company offers support for such notebooks just for Windows XP and Windows Vista Operating Systems. For now Windows 7 installed on Acer Aspire 3610 has no support as drivers or troubleshooting.
What I am suggesting you to do to find your RIGHT DRIVERS is to download and to install DRIVER MAGICIAN Lite from HERE. This amazing software, once installed, will detect and will indicate for your operating system the needed drivers.

But HERE I've found a driver that you might need. Scroll down and see that some users that have installed it said it worked on Windows 7 also.

You may try by yourself following the rule of SUCCESS AND FAILURE...

press start. type webcam. select acer crystal eye webcam. A screen should appear with your picture on it. Click the little camera at the bottom to take a picture.

You may need to install the driver for the webcam. Download the driver from: LINK
After that, your laptop should recognize the webcam. You can use any webcam software already installed on your computer or you can download one from the internet.

Download the Touchpad/mouse driver from Acer's website - this should solve the issue.

you need to set ur hard drive as your first boot device or press f8 and select it when booting its f12 on some pcs

Hey
You can press f8 during boot to bring up a boot menu to restore using a CD.
Alternate solution is to look for a battery on the motherboard itself and remove and reinsert it.
